Next year, I may get around to finishing some games, but maybe not.
Alien Isolation - already a classic and a superbly designed game, but it does scare the pants off me. About 75% through and I have to be in the right mood - with all the lights on. Started over two years ago.
No Man's Sky - picked it up in a sale just to see what all the fuss was about and have reached maybe 10%. It doesn't grab me, so I'll probably never finish it in this lifetime.
Metal Gear Solid V (TPP) - I do love this game, especially the pace and how well polished it is. The stealth is the best there is and although I'm only about 35% complete after more than two years, I'm happy to just dip into it ad infinitum.
Stalker series (Pripyat and Chernobyl) - I just didn't click with these games and found the whole mood too dark and depressing.
Bioshock series - if I can find my saves or they're in Steam Cloud, I might have another go at Infinite, but I'm not sure I'd want to start again.
Sniper Elite V2 and 4 -I'll definitely get around to finishing these, especially 4, since I like the pace and the satisfaction of slotting Nazis.
Far Cry Blood Dragon and Primal - I like to admire the scenery in Primal, so may never finish it and I simply lost interest in Blood Dragon.
Mirror's Edge (both) - some very tricky moves in both of these games, yet I really love their understated beauty, so I'll always dip in from time to time.
Need For Speed - Hot Pursuit - I'm about 50% there, but it doesn't matter, since the racing is so cool and there's no rush to finish it. Ever.
I'm sure there are a few more I haven't finished yet, so I'll add them when I find them (recent, clean Windows install)

I never finished:

- Witcher series (good game, just have attention span of a hamster)
- Final Fantasy 13 (Terrible game. Lasted a total of 2hrs and 30mins. Still clocks that on my xbox 360)
- Darkest Dungeon (I Suck at it and all my good hero's died).
- Far Cry 5 (Lost interest)
- Ghosts n Goblins (I was just a kid so my attention span was even worst. And it is a very hard game)
- Super Castlevania 4 (Same as Ghosts n Goblins)
- 90% of my steam library
- Terminator 2 (LJN games all suck and I realized that possibly 20 years later of course).

Good thread topic. I have a bad habit of purchasing titles, attracted by the graphics and box art, and never follow-thru to complete the story. Others just take way too much commitment...

Fallout 4 (main quest line, and all expansions) - I'm probably 90% complete, but my coworkers spoiled the ending(s) and I lost motivation to continue.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance - I have a couple dozen hours in this. Very beautiful game, but a moderate learning curve, and long player level-up time. I can't commit this much time into a game anymore.
Grand Theft Auto 5 - Bought this on Xbox360 years and years ago. Played maybe an hour, got distracted right off the bat and never completed any missions. The whole game is a huge distraction from itself lol.
No Man's Sky - Again, just can't commit this much time to a single title. But, very good game from the time I spent so far.
Hitman - Too much rinse/repeat. Not my style.
Batman: Arkham Knight - Got this in a steam sale dirt cheap. Very good graphics, okay gameplay. Maybe I'll finish this one day.
Battlefield 3 (single player story line) - Started the campaign, never finished.
Battlefield 4 (single player story line) - Started the campaign, never finished.
Battlefield 5 (single player story line) - Started the campaign... maybe I'll finish this one?

I'm sure there are others. Tens, if not hundreds if you count old console games.

This is an interesting thread, it's like the opposite of my thread here.

There are a couple games that I've played a bit or more but never finished them.

Bioshock 2
Resident Evil 1 HD Remaster
Strange Brigade
- played with a friend so need to have some time for the both of us.
Sanctum 2
Cloudbuilt
Trine

The first 3 I'm pretty sure I'll play them next year but I really don't know about the rest.

Some games I didn't finish because I lost interest, quite a few in fact. But there are two games I never completed because trying to would end in the death of my hardware. Dark Souls 2 (tried about 11 times to kill final boss but uninstalled to prevent apocalyptic rage quit) and Dark Souls 3.

Loved the games but didn't have the guts (or patience) to get good enough.

I gave up in DS2 (or was it 3?) were you start off on a bridge heading to some castle looking thing and the first skeleton knight guy killed me. I was a ghost, came back, tried again. Died. That happened far too much and I threw my controller and went for a walk. Came back, wife yelled at me for showing rage over a game, called me a child, went and purchased a new controller and uninstalled it from my Playstation Library.

So let me say, I completely understand you.

I got about ~150 hours into FO4, explored the entire map. The game started off pretty well. But as I grew more powerful, I started getting bored. At level 70, I was oneshotting most things and was nearly unkillable. I started working my way through the questline but found that about half the quests were increasingly typical Bethesda radiant garbage and the other half variations on "find and bring me ____" so I quit.

Stalker series (Pripyat and Chernobyl) - I just didn't click with these games and found the whole mood too dark and depressing.

That's... wow. The atmosphere these games have is a good part of the reason they receive praise. I'm surprised it turned someone away.

I tried playing the Stalker games last year. I got irritated with the "magic" artifact system for some reason so didn't get far.

Another game I tried to play,

Doom 2016: First thing I did was turn off the music because I hate music in games, I found that without music covering them up, the sound effects sucked. All the monsters sound like vacuum cleaners. Then I found that the levels were all the same lock you in a room until you kill everything, after less than 2 hours I got really bored. Really hated the glory kill one click animation stuff and the total edge lord rip and tear bullshit.

Only series I played the heck out of and finished so many ridiculous times was STALKER Series (Well, I only played Clear Skies like maybe 3 times). Man that series was awesome.

Only other game I played the heck out of in similar fashion was FF2 (FF4 in Japan), FF3 (FF6 in Japan) and FF7. But even then, I think I played STALKER way more. Just so much fun.

It could be that I don't like dark, dank and claustrophobic themes. I felt the same way about the Metro series and I'm not a fan of mutants or alien type creatures, like what they did in Crysis.
Half Life is the exception for me though and possibly Alien Isolation, because it wouldn't exist without it.

The main reason why I do not finish a Game is because i am too addicted to FIFA, the only Game and i say the only i gave 100% priority over FIFA is God Of War which unfortunately the last one has been released just for PlayStation.

Soul Reaver 2, played it as a kid and didn't really appreciate the narrative. Devil May Cry 3, also played as a kid, was damn too hard for me. If i ever get the time I might return to these two.

As a fan of both game and series, I think you should definitely play them again. ;)

RDR2 I don't know if i'm just not interested in it or if i'm losing interest in gaming as whole.
To be honest, it's becoming a habit for me, not finishing games. Maybe it's my age, but I haven't found a really good, story driven game for a while. I still think the HL series was so compelling due to the story and the simplicity of the gameplay, ie no crafting, no dodgy cutscenes or dialogue to speak of and pretty clear objectives.
My stepson raved about Bioshock Infinite, saying that for him, it was the most compelling game he's ever played and has the tattoos to prove it. Mind you, he finishes games in days, where they usually take me months on end and I feel as if I get my money's worth at the end.
Horses for courses.

Benchmark Scores I dont have time for that.
Any of the fallout games.

Im not sure how I get them, I certainly don’t pay for them. I try them and I lose interest after maybe an hour. Just not my thing at all.

I try to like them, everyone says they are great. I just don’t see it.

For me it's the same thing, but instead of just FO, it's every Bethesda developed game.

I can't think of any PC games I didn't finish but could name several console based titles I didn't.

Different strokes for different folks.
THIS is so true for so many, self included. I even have a couple of games (SNES - Secret of Evermore as the example here) that's supposedly worth some $$ from a collector's viewpoint, were supposed to be at least decent to good yet there just wasn't anything to draw me in and keep my interest. Others would probrably play and love the same title(s) that myself or others would be like "Meh" and walk away from after a short time.
Also doesn't matter if it's a console, PC or whatever else game, if it's fun to you, then you play it - Pure and simple.

Bad controls, clunky gameplay in general, repetitive action(s) to progress, poor/cheesy storyline, graphical glitches/bugs...... There isn't a single title out there that's 100% perfect. We all know that as truth but we also know a game can either draw you in and take hold or like in a 007 film, just wail on the passenger ejection seat button for the player.
