This is in my opinion a bit hard to answer on. I mean, if I don't like a game then I would simply stop playing it. I've never played a game that makes me angry or irritated enough to actually wish the developers won't continue on the game series.

However, I wish Treyarch won't make any more Call of Duty games.

I'm going to suppose this thread is a spin-off of the one Polarman made and I'm going to interprete it as I want, that is: sequels you think never had to be made.

I 'd have wanted EA never did NFS:Underground, actually ANY NFS game after NFSorsche, because all of them are based on underground to some extent.

COD3 and 4. probably 5 too, haven't tried it yet.

EDIT: I'm playing Farcry 2 right now (20% completed) and it's a good candidate. Bad, bad, it's not bad, it's boring and repetitive though, but I'm hoping it will get better as it goes. Anyway with what I have seen so far it's enough to say it's not the successor that Farcry deserved. Still a candidate.

You have to understand this is an opinion. It's because for me it's not a worthy succesor to the series. For me it lowered the bar for what I want an FPS to be:

1 - Immersion. Where COD1 and 2 made you think you were in the middle of a war, COD4 failed.

2 - Where COD1 and 2 weapons were so cool and amazing to shoot, COD4 ones were easy and overpowered making COD4 campaing just a point and click game.

3 - COD4 was a console game for the most part, which was obvious by what I said in 2 and how the enemies reacted, easy to kill.

4 - Half the gaming time is spent in stupid gimmick missions, scripted to make things even worse, like the one on the gunner plane and the sniper one. Not that the one on the boat is better.

5 - Plot? What plot? Oh yeah, patriotism is so cool it's a plot by itself...

As I said it's my opinion. I really hope never ever anyone tries to make their game following COD4's standards.

First of all I didn't like COD MP, that's why I don't play it. Anyway I buy most games for the single player. My brother and father take most of the bandwidth when I have the time to play, and when I can, I like TF2 and CSS so much that I don't care about any other one. Maybe UT3 or Crysis.

Anyway, I like the SP experience of good games much more than the MP, which for me is just for time passing. Do you feel bad for the people who buy DVD or BDs right now, or the ones that go to the cinema? They get 1,5 hours of experience, I like to get 8 hours of immersion in games.

It doesn't matter what game you liked guys, that's not being asked here. I didn't like it. That won't change.

DarkMatter, if you find the SP too short..play it at Veteran difficulty, it'll give you more of a challenge.

Well they could of just stuck with the Megaman and Megaman X storyline i guess (Which includes Zero and ZX series), but i guess that is what their selling point is other than streetfighter, and most like Platformers vs Fighting games anyway.
