HI, I am starting my gaming and server build out, I don't game too much plus I need a server for my files.
I have always loved TPU for posting my system builds,...

Here is the build list.

case - Thermaltake Core P3 TG Snow ATX Open Frame Panoramic Viewing Tt LCS Certified Gaming Computer Case CA-1G4-00M6WN-05
mobo - GIGABYTE GA-X99P-SLI (rev. 1.0) LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
chip - Intel Core i7-5930K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W
ram - Corsair Dominator Platinum 2800MHz 32GB total
gpu - MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning X
ps - 1250w Corsair
cooling - NZXT 280mm Kraken
drive - 500g 850 EVO + some kind of raid setup (tbd)

That is the basic build but it might change a little based on affordability and better understanding of Raid and the x99 platform with Thunderbolt 3.

If its more of a server build, I would recommend a Ryzen instead.

@ FreedomEclipse, looks like you have a sweet rig there tooo, I have just read that the Intel 8600k is the best value for a gaming rig at the moment.
Prive vs performance. I was looking because my son is rocking an I3 8100 and it's serves all his needs
but I think I would like to upgrade him to a Intel 8600k for Xmas

But this rig is a multi purpose rig, it's both and this chip will be fine, it's not like i am going to overload it, this will be my home storage and "who knows" server that can game like a monster...
Plus I have everything but the raid config, I am really looking to do something with the Thunderbolt 3 Technology, that has always interested me.

But i think I will be building something with ThreadRipper/Ryzen in January or Feb
That will be more of my business server.

but thanks for the comments...

SV
