I would go with the Astro A40 ($249) or Astro Mixamp ($129) and Sennheiser PC360 ($249) if you can afford it.

I don't game but bought my nephew the Turtle Beach PX-5's yesterday @ $212 (NewEgg) for XMAS. Talked to 5 or 6 I know who game and those were the choice. I hope so !!
