Gateway MD7820 Battery Issue

cannot seem to find anywhere about getting the battery on a gateway 7820 to charge up. It just stopped one day and I bought a new one and still says that the battery will not charge. Any help is appreciated. Thnx.

Good chance this is a charger issue. Either the power pack has stopped working, or, and this is a real bummer, the plug in that the charger hooks to has broke the solder points on the main board. this happens to many laptops. The only fix for this is to pull the main board and re-solder the charge port or replace the main board.

not really. the laptop is in perfect working condition. nothing is broken nor is the a/c adapter bad. all is good. the battery is just being seeing by win7 as not charging. it seems its a very talked about issue and that gateway knows about it. thnx though.

Next question then; have you registered over at notebookreview.com forums? There are a ton of very knowledgeable laptop techs there.

There is specific sections for all the manufactures to narrow down the problems. Heck, there may even be a similar or exact issue discussed in the forums.
