GeForce 1060 (3Gb) Disconnects under load

Hello, and thanks for checking my thread.

I have quite a headache thanks to my PC for awhile now.

Problem is: My GPU under heavy load (FurMarks or Kombustor, and of course while gaming), every once in awhile drops connection with my monitor and PC.
Sometimes its instant, sometimes it doesn't even happen for hours.

I have a secondary screen attached to my integrated graphics, so I can save the logs, even that starts to act up, flashing the background, currently open windows, and I can practically do nothing on it, it responds very slowly.
Also there are times once the gpu disconnects, the fans go OVER 100% (at least from the sound of it, i tried to max out the fans, then run the benchmarks. It got even louder after the crash)

It is for sure not thermal issue, nor contact, I tore my pc to pieces multiple times, Gpu temp doesn't go above 70°C, I measured the PSU myself, and logged everything GPU-Z can, in various circumstances.
Even tried underclocking to the lowest possible values MSI Afterburner let me. It happened even then, in an instant.

My specs are:
CPU: Intel Core i5 6600 @ 3.30GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte B150-HD3P-CF (U3E1)
RAM: 16GB (2x4 Dual-Channel+1x8 GB Kingston Hyper X Fury + Hyper X Predator)
PSU: HKC V-450 450W

I have the corresponding logs attached, I found nothing out of order, but if someone does, please advise!

Yeah. New PSU definitely needed. I dont think the old one is heavy enough to be a doorstop either.

I was suspecting the same, although sadly couldn't get my hands on another one, neither have any lying around.
It worked fine for about 3 years, but its not the most reliable psu on the market for sure.

I guess I'll grab one from the nearest store tomorrow.

I recommend getting something from Tier B or Tier C depending on your budget. Anything in A, B or C tier's will work just fine but B is recommended (say between 500-650w) just for futureproofing.

With a lot of people here, power supplies tend to last 2 or 3 system builds if not more so its always worth the investment of getting a good one, It saves money in the long run.

So yeah, I got myself an Enermax Modu 87+ 600W and its working just as before.

The only thing bothering me is that it runs smooth a quiet once I turn my pc on, then if I start a game, or do anything demanding, it goes loud af, then if I quit it doesn't go back to normal even after hours, but once I reboot, its instantly back to quiet, no matter if I gamed right before reboot, or waiting for hours.

I suppose it has sensors inside to determine how fast should the fan spin, but why doesn't it go back to normal, if there's no load anymore?

When you say 1060 3GB there are tens of hundreds of models of 1060 3GB from a whole host of different vendors that sell the same card. You got your super OC ones, your not so super OC ones, your reference ones and the compact ones and the cut price lower end budget ones that are built to the lowest specs that they can get away with -- They all have their own part numbers/model numbers normally printed on a little white sticker on the back of the card (Like this) or on the side of the box. So im trying to narrow down which 1060 is the card that you own.

So if you dont know the exact model number. Do you have or can you show a picture of it so i can identify exactly which model of 1060 you have?

But yeah I have a Gigabyte 1060 3Gb Windforce OC Rev 2.0

I dont know how that helps, now that i switched the PSU it works like charm.
