Geforce 7800 GTX Won’t Fit MSI K8N SLI!

MSI MESSED up one of its premium motherboards as you won't be able to fit a Geforce 7800 GTX in it. It's an SLI system and people at some forums discovered that one of the capacitors will interfere with one of the cards. It's clear that all users of MSI K8N SLI board won't be able to fit G70, G70, Geforce 7800 GTX card in this board!!! One of the capacitors is simply on the way and if you break the capacitor you will break the board.

Yeah, I'm sure you could do that... Solder the wires onto the board? Or bend the connector slightly to the left (in the pic) to fit the fan cable (or whatever)? The pins are unlikely to break, but the connector won't fit completely then. You'd have to make sure the metal contacts make contact with the pins...

Electrical tape and hot glue also work wonders. Plus they wont void your warranty.

it looks like you could bend the capacitors and create just enough space for the power plug. Simply force that plastic fan connector inbetween the capacitors.

I had to do something similiar to get a zalman 7000 cpu cooler on a nf7-s v2. I didn't bend the capacitor that much though.

stupid place to have a fan connector anyway. I'm sure MSI are thinking the same.

Eh not so much the connectors fault, MSI put a resistor that is higher than the PCI-E slot right next to the slot. Bad idea.

A capacitor isn't a resistor

Though I doubt the elco can be bend enough, I'd remove the fans connector and connect it otherwise.
Also isn't it an SLI board? doesn't that mean there is another slot to put the card in? As long as you don't want to run SLI that should be fine.

I mean from what I see the card is fully in the slot it is merely touching the Cap so I dont see it causing any serious issues anway unless your continuously moving the card or moving the rig

nope it fits fine!!!!!!

hey all running the msi k8n neo4 sli and TWO leadtek 7800gtx's and guess what? the second card DOESNOT touch the cap!!!! It fits fine no contact at all, just make sure you put the card in striaght, not at and angle!!!!
