I would really like to see how tight the timings can get if you underclock them, I curious to see if an IC capable of 2500 can do 5-5-5-12 at 1600 wonder if the real world performance will be greater.

I would really like to see how tight the timings can get if you underclock them, I curious to see if an IC capable of 2500 can do 5-5-5-12 at 1600 wonder if the real world performance will be greater.

If it could do 5-5-5-12 at 1600 they wouldn't be cheap and they wouldn't have the crappy timings they have at 2500. There is a reason those 2200 8-8-8-24 kits sell for 200+. They can do 6-6-6-18 at 1600 and better depending on the imc on the chip.

I'm holding out for hope with 4gb sticks. Prices have really come down to now 2x4gb kits cost the same as 4x2gb kits. Just need them to start tightening up the timings.

This is very true. I am very happy that I have an 8GB set that is running at 6-6-6-18 at 1760. VERY VERY HAPPY!!!!

they may do those speeds but i doubt it. one would think they used hypers but they didnt otherwise the ram would cost almost as much as dominator gt's. they use elipidia for sure but probably bbse.
