Unpopular opinion it seems, I would go with the Corsair. 750 is more than enough.

Yeah that was actually my initial desire, too. But then people start talking about hard system crashes on perfectly well functioning PSUs of good quality. Way to get a guy anxious. And since Asus recommends 850W for this particular board I have, I will spend exactly 0,- on going from Corsair HX750 to Seasonic GX-850. So 850 it will be.

Sorry i misread the name. my PSU is Focus+ not GX, recommendation for Seasonic still stands though.

The cutting-edge tech components released during 2020 seem to be plagued with weird issues and it's hard to distinguish the root cause. Users still don't seem to know if the RTX 3080 issues are due to the graphics card itself, or the drivers, or the power supply, or god knows what else.

Over the last month I've been testing what exactly is causing the WHEA errors spat out by my 5600X. On average it takes about a week of daily use to determine if a BIOS change is successful or not. Not sure if it's just me but older computers seemed to be a lot less finnicky than they are now. Either they worked or they didn't work and it was much easier to troubleshoot problems.

Make sure to just do plenty of research and, yeah it's probably safer to just opt for the 850 watt capacity. HOWEVER, always look beyond the total rating and check the wattage each power supply is capable of delivering to the graphics card itself on the 12V rails.

Ive had alot of HX PSU blow up and or faulty more then any other brand all within there warranty period that I basically wont touch Corsair PSU again. Id go with Silverstone PSU if you can, buying for yrs now and none have failed. Just my 2 cents

Wow, blow up? That must be a nasty experience. I thought Corsair had their PSUs oem manufactured, but by who?

Seasonic manufactures Corsair's higher end psu's.
Manufacturer of the entire HX (and HXi) line is Channel Well Technology or CWT
Manufacture of the AX line is Seasonic
