they used to sell these on the Home shopping network website if your credit isnt too bad, you can get it in installments.. I can't believe they have a computer with a 1080 TI for anything under $2000 as far as pre-builts go though

Yea, under the hood, it's all DELL, right? This might make sense if you're looking for a OOTB good gaming system (maybe bump up the ram), or have the time to part out... but parting out would probably be hell except for the obvious things like CPU. If it's anything like a DELL, nothing much is compatible with run of the mill ATX. I'd just want ti for the 1080 Ti

I recall a video, don't know if you posted it. The video talked about bundling a system to get a high end GPU, but no specifics. Don't know how long this one will last, but the link and 10% off code is right there in the PCG link.

I didn't even try adding a 2nd GPU! That's a long time to wait and at the rate crypto is going now, it's a risky purchase if you're looking to resell or even game.

actually those higher end ones often use standards for boards too. for the deal you linked, even if You scrapped everything but the GPU, cpu, RAM, and drives, you'd be on the winning end

The MB, case and PSU all had proprietary connectors and even form factors. I tried putting a new MB into a DELL case and even standoffs weren't compatible. Then there was this header to the case that made me give up.

Well it is a Dell ,it's just an offshoot of Dell "gaming" series.

This is an alienware board. but its lacking , seeing as how its 2011 iirc... 1156 aurora

The last higher and Dell desktop I worked on was an XPS if I recall correctly so don't hold me to it but they normally have some kind a proprietary crap in there like a standard I/O shield won't fit or something like that

im working my damndest right now to get one of my nephews out from under exactly what your describing, its a dell optiplex . proprietary AF.
