Yeah, but money IS the problem.

If I had a job, I would have 4GB DDR2 667MHz ram, a new motherboard, a nice PSU, X850XT and X850 Crossfire Edition both with ATi Silencer 5 Rev. 2's on them, 2x 300GB 10000rpm Raptors in RAID 0, a case with like a million fans, and generally overclock my processor to 4GHz with a new Arctic Freezer 7 Pro. But I don't have ANY money. It's hard when you're 15, you know...I only got the X850XT with birthday money. I can't be waiting for birthdays and christmas everytime I need something.

If I could sell my 2 X1300's and my ECS RS400-A motherboard, that MIGHT just be £100 right there.

I posted them in the for sale section. No interest. lol

If you are unfamiliar with hardware modding such as Vmodding, cap modding, etc, and are very new, I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS!

It will probably provide at most 1-3C if done *properly* using an accurate tempurature probe and correct remounting pressure.

It is not extremely beneficial, especially for a light air overclock, and puts your CPU in great risk of being killed.

I would actually suggest obtaining a dead CPU (p4 or A64) and de IHS it first so you get the feel for how it handles and make sure you are wary of any SMD's that are under the IHS. (Use an uncapped picture of the same CPU for a guide).

Also, use a foam over the pins (the little black foam newegg sends CPU's in works GREAT) to prevent pin bending, or you'll be spending a few hours fixing those aswell.

Actually it depends on how well the IHS is fitted to his CPU. Most arent actually fitted THAT well and he will lose about 5c off load temps. If his CPU IHS happens to be like mine was though, he'll lose almost 10c off load temps.

One more thing to check for the lag issue - make sure you defrag your hard drive(s).

Yeah, defragmenting your hard drive really helps. Run disk cleanup first, though, and get rid of those unnecessary cookies, especially. I mean, I like cookies, just not those kinds .

I'm pretty sure this is right, though I've been wrong before (someone correct me just in case). Basically, when you surf the internet, your computer will store information from each website, so that when you revisit the site, it won't take as long to load. This information is called "cookies". They just take up space and really aren't that necessary.

When you come here to the TPU forums, you log in. If you check the box that says "remember me" you won't have to log in again. That's because you get a cookie that remembers minor info related to the site. If you delete your cookies, you have to log in to all your forums again.

Control Panel--> Internet Options--> a window will appear and in the first tap, you'll see options to delete cookies, clear history, etc. It would be good to do both. Yes, you will have to re-login to everything, but I would say you should still do it at least once a month. Logging back in once a month isn't that much of a hassle, right?

You can defrag while using the computer, but any kind of disc access is going to interupt the defrag process. If things are really scrambled up it's best to set it to defrag while you are sleeping or going out for a while.

Cookies= Tiny text files used to store information such as login, shopping carts, etc.
Cache= Images, webpages to enhance browsing speeds.

They are indeed seperated.

In firefox, Its under the privacy tab btw.

Hey, scratch that. Let me get things straight, "Cookies are pieces of information stored on your computer from different websites. They are used to conatin login information and other data. Cache stores web pages you have viewed for faster viewing later on." There we go.

Edit: Thanks Dippyskoodlez. Sorry about the mix-up. Yeah, in your firefox browser, go to tools--> options--> click on privacy tab and you'll see cookies and cache. I think in internet explorer cache is simply referred to as history. That might be why I was confused.
