Other/not upgrading. I have a 980Ti and and RX 480. I have no need for anything faster or better visually than the overkill I already have.

On the fence. My Fury "X" is still serving me well but it's also held it's value well so patiently waiting for hard facts.

I would wait for reviews and then wait a bit more to see if driver updates are bringing large enough improvements in the performance and if they are I would then buy one but by then there won't be a single one in sight for the MSRP! Seems like it will be a no win for me..

I cannot vote.

I have a GTX 1060 6GB and I'm not upgrading to anything any time soon. Perhaps my next GPU will be GTX 3060 (or GTX 1260).

I'm fine with not getting bent over by GPU price inflation, thank you.

That's why I'm running cards 2-4 generations back. Which sucks.

I've been waiting for a year for good card to appear that's worth upgrading to. The prices prevent that. Maybe once this is all over I can get a GTX 1070 for what it's actually worth in 2018.

Getting a watercooled one or a REALLY good aircooled AIB! Thought I wanted ultrawide, but now I want an omen 32, so for future proofing and smoothness when the framerate drops below 75 (unlikely, especially since I prefer high over ultra) I'm getting the best freesync enabled gpu I can afford. There isn't even a 1440p 32" g-sync monitor that I know of, so when games are optimized even more for AMD's old stuff and not so much for pascal, I'm definitely better off having rx vega. No tearing and lower framerates now is still quite appealing. Besides, I don't see the point of much more than 60fps.

Would have gotten rx vega anyway because the minimums seem quite high, which I prefer over great averages and maximums and it should get even better with driver updates. Besides, if the aircooled reference version is already nearly as fast as a 1080, wouldn't a watercooled version beat one? At 1630mhz rx vega already performed similarly to a 1080 gaming x in firestrike and at 1677 locked it should even beat some golden sample manually oc-ed 1080's and the trend seems to be that firestrike slightly undervalues AMD nowadays, so that's good. Hopefully rx vega can oc somewhat decently too, just to squeeze those extra few frames from it!

Rx vega basically is great when combined with freesync. Not so much if you refuse to use adaptive sync, unless enhanced sync is somehow an amazing feature.

Well with a lot (LOT) of wishful thinking and carefully selected benches at no higher than 1080p resolution yes, MAYBE the 1060 can hit 980ti stock performance in some places. But a 980 has never been even remotely close to a 980ti even if you put it under water, so if you don't mind, I'll disagree on your statement. It's the 1070 OC and the 980ti OC that are trading blows. The 1060 is nowhere even close.

What really happens every new gen is this: every tier gets 'kicked down' one step on the ladder - NOT two. Pascal is a bit of an exception because it leaves a huge gap between the 1070 and the 1060 and for the first time since long there is more than 30% performance boost on the same tier card. So if anything, you will find that it will take a bit longer for your GTX 1160 to hit the performance level of a 1070, than it usually did.

Its just a different ballpark and with Pascal this is even more true than before. x60 is hamstrung by a tight VRAM bus width and that kills it as an option for anything that is higher res and/or putting it in SLI. Its a stutter fiesta. The 1060 has somewhat less issues with that, but at the same time, it does benefit (mildly) from faster VRAM on the same core speed.

This is also a reason to recommend the RX480 over an equal price 1060 - you may win 5% with the 1060 today, but as time progresses and games get more demanding (and thats when you'll really start feeling a cards' limits in actual gaming), the RX480 will be more consistent overall. Its minor, but worth considering when you buy midrange. A 256 bit bus really does matter in the long run.

Not quite , the gap between the 960 and 970 was slightly larger than the gap from 1060 and 1070. 970 was as a result so close to a 980 that overclocked it could match it.

A 1060 can easily be more than twice as fast as 960 if overclocked.

I'm sticking with my 1070 that I bought after selling my 480's to miners. My only regret is not buying one of those 980Ti's when they were on sale a few weeks ago at EVGA.

You're right about that one (what was it, about 45% difference), but in that case more due to the 960 being pretty shit (matching a 670, not a 770 like it should) and the 970 performing pretty well, while the 980 added very little on top making it almost obsolete as is. Right now the 970 and 980 are so remarkably close you'd consider them trading blows and depending on how well your 1060 clocks, you can be anywhere in between the two performance wise.

You really think that much for Canada? I would think on the lower end it would be $499/599 for 56/64.

Dam straight man!! I just looked up the 1080ti and it's $1050 and abit more or less on the brand.. the 1070's run $550-689 and the 1080 runs $660-$835

Seen the vega FE on amazon.ca going to over $1800

We get raped on prices during launch and only after 6 months or longer the prices start to fall. Remember the value of the American dollar affects us big time.. well I can't really say that because when the dollar was on par we still ended up being the guy in the barrel if you get my joke.

That Amazon price is a 3rd party idiot lol. I'm seeing pre-order prices here for $1500 bucks, nope nope nope. I'll pick one of the limited edition's up on launch day. If not, the regular RX 64 will do. Hopefully the regular retailers don't price gouge. $499 is a good price.

Well that will be American price, if that's the case and the Canadian retailers want insane prices expect a money order in your mailbox and please pick me up one.

I tried using Newegg in the States and wanted to buy a card a while ago but it rejected.. it knew I was from Canada and even though having an American address it was a no go.. I even called and nope they wouldn't do shit for me.
