It looks like pc gamers will actually get to play this game after all. However, there is no eta on when it will be released. The only information so far is that it will be after the console release date of May 22, 2012.

It's not a tactical shooter anymore though

I didn't lose any sleep when they announced it wasn't coming to pc. I won't jump for joy either knowing it's actually coming.

Most games are console ported, but this game will most likely be VERY console ported. Not worth it.

New video showing you some of the game play GR:Online. As for the graphics, it looks like console game play. But even so, still looks dated in this video. I've seen better graphics though.

This series has been butchered to death since Raven Shield. That was the last good tactical shooter from this series...

It looks, to me, that they are providing some elements of the original Ghost Recon.

    Edit:
I found some other gameplay video of GR:Online. Graphics looks better. But I have to wonder if they will use some sort of anti cheating program like PB? I do like the tethering system they have for it. At least you know where your team mates are.

I could care less about that. There are other 1st person shooters out there to play.

Yea maybe when ubisoft stops releasing broken games "Hawx2mp" for pc I will consider it, as far as there client i think the ubi thing is better then origin.
I used to be a huge GR fan till they switched from PC to Console dev.

Better then Origin? How many people can actually play BF3 right now do to the pb and/or streaming issue kicking and/or banning people for the last 3 days? When it's all said and done we all want a bug free game.

I say that because Origin is useless you have to use Battlelog for everything anyway,
At least the ubi game launcher is only a launcher and don't irritate me by crashing in the middle of a game and kicking me or telling me every time i close it that its still running in the tray.

Uplay functionality does share some similarities to Steam/GFWL (spend points on certain unlocks, achievements, etc) and true, it's nothing like origin. But I do have one question. How do uninstall Uplay? Or even find it on your PC?

It shows under add remove programs for me and in program files/ubisoft
Its called ubisoft game launcher on my system, we are talking about the same thing right?

The thing that makes me hesitant about ubisoft and pc now is the lack of quality control, out off the entire GR collection i bought on steam only GRAW1/2 is fully working, don't know whose fault that is steam/ubi but im pissed about that and hawx2 mp being broken as well.
Even after taking a trip back to the year 2000 and forwarding ports on my router I can connect and play but locking on any player controlled plane cause them to freak out on my screen so I cant do anything to them.

No we are not. What I'm talking about is this example:
    1. Uninstall Ubi game
    2. Install another Ubi game
    3. And I still auto log into Uplay even after everything is uninstalled. So I have to ask, where are all the Uplay files/folders etc? And why isn't everything uninstalled so that I have to retype my stuff?

I didn't play Hawx2 do to the tessellation thing people talked about. As for Graw1/2 both played flawless for me. However, I got the retail versions not the steam versions. Graw 1 was far better then Graw 2 even though physx destruction (before it went to nv) was pretty impressive for it's time. And, as I recall, someone found out how to get physx to work on the CPU. Problem back then was that the cpus weren't all that powerful back then. When using the CPU the frame rates dropped. And, I'm trying to remember if that was the game they were testing sse instruction set or not. Oh well, I don't recall but 1/2 worked out well from what I recall.

Missing the point entirely. Ghost Recon has ALWAYS been a FPS... Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six set the benchmark for FPS Tactical Shooters...I hate that over the years this series has been consistently watered down to the point it barely deserves the name anymore.

Ghost Recon actually had a 3rd person kind of view without the over the shoulder look. So you had GR crosshair on the screen. Moving on to Graw people actually modded the game to include a 3rd person view which I liked. So this isn't an issue.

I go a little further back than GRAW. Heck even it had lost touch with the original.

GR was what I was referring to before Graw.

Yes it wasn't until Raven Shield that they included a gun model it was also an engine change as well. Point still stands Ghost Recon has always been a 1st person shooter.
