GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. Ltd, a leading manufacturer of motherboards, graphics cards, and hardware solutions, announced today the latest BIOS update just recently for AMD platform motherboards. It not only supports 3rd Gen. AMD Ryzen XT desktop processors, but also provides effective solutions for some of the hidden SMM Callout related security issues on the AMD APU.

GIGABYTE has been working closely with AMD to provide the best performance, enhanced user experience, and the recovery of security issues. After the previous release of new BIOS for Ryzen XT processors, GIGABYTE is also aware of the possibility of SMM Callout related security issues on AMD APU processors released from 2016 to 2019. The issue enables attackers to execute any coding and control the whole system through the system manage mode of AMD AGESA microcode.

At the time received the new AMD AGESA microcode, GIGABYTE RD confirmed that GIGABYTE BIOS with AMD AGESA Combo V2 1.0.0.2 and Combo V1 1.0.0.6 microcode, not only supports 3rd Gen. AMD Ryzen XT desktop processors, but also provides an effective solution for the possible SMM Callout related security issues on part of the AMD APU. Users can update the latest BIOS to motherboards through multiple ways such as GIGABYTE @BIOS, Q-Flash. With Q-Flash Plus on the X570 and B550 series motherboards, users can easily update BIOS without even installing a processor, memory, graphics cards, so they can enjoy the new BIOS easily and take full advantage of the new processors.

The latest Beta BIOS for GIGABYTE AMD X570, B550 motherboards has been uploaded to the official website. The latest BIOS for X470, B450, and other chipsets will be continually uploaded after the middle of July. Users can download to optimize their systems. Please visit the GIGABYTE official website for the latest BIOS update.

Note:Please update BIOS to F4 version on B550 AORUS MASTER;to F3 version on B450M AORUS ELITE;to F2 version on B450M H;to F2 Version on A320M HD3.

The only good thing about the X570 Auros elite is that it has a seperate clockgen for increasing the bus speed, without harming the boost functionality. Just played with F20B, the max single core boost of my 2700x is now 4.5GHz rather then 4.35Ghz. Stock settings and with override of PPT and all those values.

Asus is pretty speedy with the updates recently.

This bios was released on July 3 for our boards.

F20 has supposedly better support for bus oc compared to F12. That's what others have reported on overclock.net forums who have tested F20.

In case of F20 it has more exposed settings under AMD CMS related to memory training and other options. Also slight graphical change compared to F12.

I am more of a Asus user, but Gigabyte is for the price i paid for the board (219 euro) not that well. Yes there's some options but really it's limited to a X470-F from asus. VRM switching frequency? XMP not properly working, alot of other extra options missing really, and the CPU boosting behaviour is'nt what it was compared to the X470-F. Lets say the Asus was more consistent in giving high boost to various workloads compared to the gigabyte.

The F20B does a OK job related to OC'ing, and because of the seperate clock-generator we actually can increase the boost clocks. However after 104Mhz things start to get unstable which looks like a CPU voltage issue, but i'm not willing to overvolt the 2700X more then it already gets by stock voltages. These silicons wear out fast if you run 'm on too high of a voltage.

Really good article about Bclking on AMD Ryzen platform.

This article is only marketing and not accurate.

Gigabyte never specifies which Agesa is on "updated" x471/B550 bios. Take this example: "https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X470-AORUS-GAMING-5-WIFI-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios". F51d beta bios only has memory improvements. No Agesa specified.

Contrast this to "https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X570-AORUS-ULTRA-rev-11/support#support-dl-bios", where they specifiy that it is the latest Agesa.

This is only marketing designed to cover that fact that GB is leaving old platforms behind.

Sites that publish this should ask for clarifications from GB.

Please stop spreading FUD.
Gigabyte has so far always specified if they've updated the AGESA.
If you could read, you would also see that they're patching a security issue and that the older boards will get the update at the end of this month.
