Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 VISION OC 10G heatsink bend

Hello,

Yesterday I managed to buy a new GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 VISION OC 10G. But when I opened the box, I saw that the heatsink was bend. Any idea if this could harm? I did bend it a little bit back.

well nothing to be concerned about, those aluminum fins are easily bent if you hold the cooler incorrectly

I know, that’s why I did slide it out of the box carefully.

Please dont try to bend it back too perfectly....too much force on the fin can loosen the soldering to the copper heat pipe and can cause vibrations while the gpu fan is running...
i have had this happen to cpu coolers frequently..

I think the only place it will bring harm is to your eyes, but performance wise not a chance when it's only one fin that's like this.

Do to these time I would not ask Gigabyte or the store for a replacement card.
