The next company to jump into the Intel Atom N550 bandwagon is Gigabyte, with its rather premium GA-T1005M tablet PC. This convertible tablet has 10.1 inch screen with native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, and capacitive multitouch features. It is backed by Windows 7 Home Premium to take advantage of the touchscreen. Under its hood is the Atom N550 dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of DDR3 memory, Intel GMA 3150 graphics, 320 GB HDD; connectivity which includes WiFi b/g/n, gigabit Ethernet, 3.5G HSDPA, and Bluetooth 2.1. Expansion is care of a number of USB 2.0 ports, an ExpressCard slot, and a 4-in-1 media card reader. A 1.3 megapixel camera is embedded on top of the screen, and the 6-cell battery makes for the rest of it. Gigabyte's tablet is expected to cost around US $800.

The specifications look to be on par with the price (or around there).

I think the only item I wish they would have improved on would have been the video card, since you could have accomplished more demanding tasks but other than that, this tablet/notebook looks like a fairly portable and efficient product.

Not bad Gigabyte.

Right so it's Gigabyte, that means it will have 5 cubic metres of copper in it, you'll be able to dip it under water and it'll still work, you can overclock it using your cellphone and it'll have BIOS updates which will let it run a Core i7 980X.

I'd buy it if it did.
