Apparently Slate PCs are still a thing because Gigabyte Technology is preparing to release a new such device, the S10M. Pictured below, the upcoming slate is 14.94 mm thick and features a 10.1-inch (1366x768) touchscreen, a 1.46 GHz Celeron N2805 (Bay Trail) dual-core processor, up to 4 GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000, and either a solid state drive (64/128/256 GB capacity) or a hard drive (320/500 GB or 1 TB). Gigabyte's slate also has a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, a Gigabit LAN port, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 support, an optional 3G module, an SD card reader, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI output, and two 1.5 W speakers. The S10M runs Windows 8.1. No word yet on pricing or availability.
