I have been diagnosing friend's PC for days now, and i have no logical explanation for what is happening...

Config File MSI_BAFFIN_C99401_PRO_A1_G5_2GB_V809703SATXX32\config.h (GPU-z)

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-RX460WF2OC-2GD#kf

This is really weird because i can not flash the Gigabyte BIOS to it...

If any overclock tool is on the system, restore to stock values and delete them, remove the gpu drivers completely using DDU twice in windows, once in safe mode.

Take pictures of ehite stickers on the back of the card and get a picture of a ram chip on the card, all clear pics please, upload them here.

No overclock tools, bios settings are stock, tried removing with DDU. I will post photos here, soon.

Those pictures are very blurry, unplug power supply from wall, pull the graphics card card out and take a clear picture of the sticker, then Remove the heatsink from the graphicd card and get a picture of the memory on there.

it looks like somebody unlocked the shaders on that card by flashing a modified msi bios. if the mod was successful all you need to do at this point is:

1. reinstall the drivers
2. download and run AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher from HERE
3. restart.

should work fine after this even if its an msi bios on a gigabyte card. if this does not fix it than you will need to force flash the bios. try patching the drivers after they are installed first.

good luck

To be frank with you man I'd like for him to get a stock bios back on the card and then have you modify it

That is really interesting suggestion @Final_Fighter
I guess that might well be the reason why Windows is "confused" with the Error Code 43.
I'll try that as soon as i get my hands on it.

OMG guys thanks so much, the patch tool worked! I'm gonna try updating drivers!

Now it shows ok in Device Manager and I'm able to open up AMD Radeon Settings!

I should be fine running this card on unlocked shaders, and keep the MSI modded BIOS? :D

there should be no problems.

edit: either the driver is to far out of date or you might have a slight problem with the bios because your mem clock is not showing. update the drivers to the latest than post a screenshot on gpuz. make sure to patch the drivers again.

Aham that is true. I just updated the drivers to 19.8.2 and had to reapply the patch. Works good.
It replaces the .sys file with the default (unpatched) one.

glad to hear. run hwinfo for a little bit while gaming and see if you get any memory errors. if not than its stable and ready to rumble.
