both have crap BIOS's that relabel everything to make it all confusing just go for MSI they are making a huge comeback K9A2 plat,CF-F and on the intel side the P7SLI are great mobos!

Just because you don't understand the BIOS options personally, that makes it a crap BIOS? So by your logic, you think an MSI X48 Platinum is better than a Rampage?

No thanks, I'll stick with Asus, thank you very much.

but asus does suck, sorry but i have had enought asus boards.......they piss me off, missing bios fetures/functions, or the options there but not like its ment to be, and when u try and use it, it dosnt do anything.

also their driver support for chips they choose( ADI1988) that THEY must update the drivers for on their site, well it sucks........

and i dont argue with ppl who bitch about overly complex bios, because honestly, if ur a true tweaker and overclocker, you dont complain about MOAR functional options ;)

No, YOUR Asus boards sucked. I've never had an issue with any of mine that wasn't solved by a BIOS upate.

did i ever say that it would clock higher or anything like that no i said the BIOS was better designed which it is because IMO renaming all the functions of a mobo so its "different" is a fucking pain in the ass for end users....

and i got to point this out when you have a .1v vdroop on almost every mobo idc how good the rest of the design is a $50 mobo can get away with a lower vdroop than that....that IMO is a killer for buying a mobo

I replaced my Asus Striker Extreme with an X48T-DQ6 because i felt like it, and an Asus is an Asus, cant compare to the options. Sure i press CTRL F1 in my Gigabyte bios for more options! But Asus is ontop of their game.

Im sorry to hear about all those people that suffer issues with their hardware, but ive personally never had an issue with both Asus and Gigabyte in terms of reliability or overclocking or stability.

If one board managed to overclock more then the other its because i ended up buying it several months later, or i went out and paid for the top dollar model.

I also found that the The Asus Striker 2 Extreme's bios had far too many things more then the entire Gigabyte range.

Glad this has all come to an end, so they can both focus on the upcomming board designs.

.1 Vdroop is within Intel's specs. And who the hell cares? You just have to compensate for it any way. BTW, my board has 0 vDroop. But that doesn't even metter. vDroop is in no way a determination of overall quality. Boards are supposed to droop according to Intel's specs. I'm not 100% sure if AMD adheres to those specs as well, but I'm assuming they do, as AMD board droops as well. Unless AMD just have their own Droop specs.

And I'd like to know what functions are renamed. Many, MANY functions have multiple possible names. Take AMD's HT link. It is also referred to as LDT. One is more familiar, but neither is wrong. Just because you aren't used to the names, doesn't mean they're wrong, or that Asus boards are worse because of it.

Do you really think that the big "mass" of buyers care about BIOS settings? I think only 5% tops care about this, and this 5% are not the ones to bring money to both companies. So please, think wider, not only that you had a problem and other didn't...

this may make me sound simple but i really don't want to spend hours trying to figure out wtf something was renamed as most companies use a standard name for everything...and i have yet to see an unmodified Asus not droop .1v or higher...all i know is i set 1.412v in my BIOS and the lowest i have ever seen it is 1.408v. My Tech teacher has a M3A and a 9500 phenom his is set to 1.25 i have seen it move from 1.13v all the way to 1.24v....thats killer when you oc IMO

now enough about this i don't like Asus and you do big deal haha

I love the BIOS on my gigabyte board. I find it vary easy to overclock and do anything else.I haven't had one problem finding anything i wanted in the BIOS.It even has some shit that i don't know what it does.
Also the voltage on the gigabyte board set in BIOS at 1.35 is 1.36v in windows under load. and 1.35-1.36 at idle.I find that vary reasonable
