Gigabyte Z490 Master - CPU running too hot need help with Bios.

My new build is running hot - mid 90'sC with AIDA64 stress test. Games like CyberPunk 2077 and COD will often hit mid 80's C . I watched the GamersNexus video about how this board is overclocked from the factory but I am unsure as to what exact settings in the bios to change to drop this down to Intel recommended specs. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Build:
Gigabyte z490 Aorus Master MB
Intel i9 - 10900K CPU
Noctua NH-D15 Cooler

First one to change is CPU Vcore from Auto, to Normal. If I remember correctly, that cooled things down for me almost 20c at load.

Thanks for the quick response! I will give that a try and report back.

Well that didn't seem to have any effect. Ran the stress test and hit 100 C so backed out of the test. It's too bad that Gigabyte doesn't have the option to revert settings to Intel recommended specs or at least show people what to change. Maybe I need to look at Liquid AIO cooling?

Check your mount and look around in advanced settings to see if there is something that looks off.

Maybe I'm wrong but those temps seem ok. Stress test's will make the cpu sweat more than any game could. Does it go up to 4.9 all core like it's supposed to? Or does it thermal throttle?

Tried remounting - no change

Thanks for your help It seems to go up to 4.9 but I will check again. I am just looking at some AIO cooler test results and the temps under stress seems to be a good 10-20 degrees cooler than what I am seeing but again, I am a bit new to this so I appreciate the advice.

You make no mention of your ambient temperatures.

Air (and water) cooling are quite dependent on ambients.

Set Enhanced Multi Core Performance to Auto, that might be locking your speed which is then kind of keeping it running at higher voltages. In EasyTune, that power slider seems really high, which might be another possible culprit.

My 10850K (Gigabyte Z490 Ultra) Was running pretty warm too.. these boards simply give the CPUs too much voltage.
Mine at default was 1.32... I'm running it at a manual voltage of 1.216 100% stable @ Stock clocks.

Changing mine to normal didnt seem to help, had to manually key it in.

Ambient temperature as in room temperature is typically 20-22 C

I will try that. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Is this something I adjust in Easytune or in the actual bios?

I am a bit clueless with this bios. Can you tell me exactly where in the bios I make this manual voltage adjustment? Thanks mate!

Vcore voltage mode and then cpu vcore. There likely will be 3 options for vcore mode, auto, manual, and offset.

Auto - motherboard handles all the settings.
Manual - locks in a constant voltage set by you.
Offset - has "+/-" for options, + adds the selected amount to the stock voltage value, - subtracts the selected value.

^^ Dark2099's got it..

I Do manual because I prefer just typing in what i want, the only downfall is it constant and doesn't go down on idle.
So you would either key in a manual voltage or a negative offset in offset mode (-.07 would bring your 1.32 down to 1.25)

Thanks Dark2099 & Psychoholic. I was able to drop the voltage and saw an immediate improvement in my temps of 15-20 degrees. I really appreciate the assistance!
