Amidst speculations that Gigabyte has put a stop to its P67 chipset-based lineup of LGA1155 motherboards and is planning a transition to Z68 top-to-bottom targeting several price points, pictures of the Z68X-UD3P-B3 surfaced. The new UD3P board is based on Z68, features a hybrid-EFI BIOS (dual-BIOS with >3 TB bootable volume support), and is designed exclusively for discrete graphics setup, it lacks FDI display connectivity. The CPU is powered by a 14-phase VRM that uses driver-MOSFETs, and cooled by simple heatsinks.

OMG, this is no Z68 they are cheating because it has no VGA output.
It seems they just took their P67A-UD3 board and replaced the chipset. This way no reason to buy Z68 because no benefit.

OMG, Z68 is like a different chipset. It has no vga output I bet that is because its aimed at a different target audience. If you think there is no benifit that's cool wait for H67. There is no benefit between H55 and P55.

Actually, that'd be a P67X-UD3P, but with a Z68 chipset and the benefit is SSD caching which works even without display connectors...

Looks good. Amazing that it's mostly black when not too long ago the Gigabyte multicolor feature was killing us (some of us anyways). I'm looking forward to reading some reviews on this one.

So it doesn't use onboard video?

It has no HDMI, DVI, VGA, etc. as far as I can see.

In which case, what's the point of Z68?

I like that Asus board a lot more, slot layout is nicer and it has the display outputs too.

I got an Audigy 2 ZS PCI running KX Project drivers. KX Project is brilliant and there's no setup that matches this one for sound quality and customization :)

And my machine isnt shit or old at all. i7 920 @ 3.9ghz, 6GB DDR3, 4TB HD, crossfire-x etc :p

Somebody PLEASE tell me what this is?

Can you pull it out? Does something plug in there? I've yet to see one of these on a physical MoBo - But I don't generally deal in the ultra high end - mostly office & server stuff :\

Its the built in bluetooth dongle, I have one on my P8P67 Deluxe, its not removable, but asus' does have a nice overclocking/monitoring tool for smartphones that talks over the bluetooth, I use it all the time.

AGREE, but replace VGA with DisplayPort

ASUS P8Z68-V Pro looks better to me:
AGREE! I would just replace that useless VGA port with DisplayPort 1.2 or whatever was the latest version. Besides that, looks sick! VGA is so so so old, most manufactures are going to kill it in the next 2 years. So no point of having it, all monitors from the past 7 years have at least one of the digital outputs.

Black vs Red USB ports? Whats the deal with it?

I get the blue USB ports are USB 3.0 thats clear. But whats with the red and black? I mean USB 1.1 and 2.0 both were always black as far as I'm aware. And is not like all black 1.1/2.0 are recolored red, but instead there are RED and BLACK? Whats the deal, whats different? Anyone?
