Gigbayte RTX 2060OC Issues, Help Please

So recently i have returned my RTX 2060 OC from gigabyte to high temperatures and a really loud noise that occurred every now and then, the place has received the card and they told me that it got tested and they found no faults, what do i do?

are sure that it's just the g card fan and not some weird case cover resonating / interfering with other fans / hdd vibration?
apply pressure onto the sides of the rig when the card (presumably) starts making that noise and see it if actually goes away.

about the temperatures, recently got a 1070, that thing goes to 70c and it is actually ok since the fans only start spinning at 60c

100% Gigabyte's M.O. I sent them a card that had a fan that was obviously grinding, and they just shipped it right back saying they tested it and the fan didn't make any noise. It took me 3 months of fighting with them to finally get a working card.

Just keep complaining. Though, be careful, they also like to damage cards they receive for RMA and then claim you sent it to them like that and void the warranty.

had you tried to apply some WD40 into the fan? Doesnt void the warranty and gets the job done

i mean, the fan in question can be carefully unscrewed (without tampering any seals) and then u just go ahead and apply some wd40 into the motor (into the side, just a small amount is enough). 100 safe too, because it is not conductive

WD40 is a degreaser. Will work in the short while but you have to keep adding wd40 to it just to keep it lubricated.

Yeah. I know what WD40 is and read the history as well. What I'm saying is it is good until it isn't. It will soften the oils in the fan and it is also prone to drying up fast. Hence, you have to keep applying it if you want to use it as a lubricant. It also doesnt play well with some plastics.

Why would I fix their product if it is under warranty? That's why warranties exist.

A light oil would be a better choice IMO...

I just use some 5w-30, because that's what all my cars take, so I have shitloads laying around. Works good and I've never had to re-apply.

WD-40 is a solvent or solvent based so what ever you spray it on it eventually ends up evaporating. and lube that evaporates isnt good for things that have a lot of moving parts or parts that need to move constantly like fan bearings. When it evaporates it leaves a coating thats slightly impervious to water but it is by no means a lubricant.

Like the description says if you are working on a car and some bolts have seized up. WD-40 is a great product to get those things unstuck - thats as far as it goes on how it should be used lubricant

Sewing Machine oil is perfect for those small jobs, and cheap too, my local Supermarket sells this.

Shit, to say I'm intrigued by this statement would be an understatement. Is it stricly Giga who does this, or do all the biggies (Asus, MSI, Sapphire, etc.) do it? Because damn, that's some sneaky-ass shenanigans right there

Some companies have bad RMA service. Don't know why... they're getting free replacement parts.

There are also some good companies like HP. Bought a laptop once, the battery wasn't great, called in their support, and they sent me a new one 'just like that'.

Asus isn't great, but at least they get the job done.

Fan/heatsink replacement for RTX 2060 shouldn't be a big deal. That's really low.

When you get the card back, just buy a 3rd party VGA cooler like Arctic Accelero Xtreme,and tell Gigabyte to go F themselves.

I've only ever seen it with Gigabyte, there have been several post here on this forum as well as reddit and other tech forums from different users that experience the exact same thing with Gigabyte. Gigabyte receives the card/motherboard, and there is always mysteriously a damaged corner on the PCB that wasn't there when they shipped the item to Gigabyte and no damage to the packaging, and Gigabyte voids the warranty because the "user" damaged the product.

Why did you return the Gigabyte X570 Master? Was I correct about the poor PCIe 4 compatibility?

Well, considering the struggles I had with getting the 5700XT recognized, I'd say your and my hunch was ultimately correct, so I returned it. Because the issues I had weren't like the typical issues people have been having with Navi since it came out -- usually their rigs are able to POST and whatnot, but they run into problems while gaming or waking the system up from Sleep. In my case, I couldn't even get a signal, period. It wasn't the ports after that first replacement, because I'd purchased that VESA certified DP cable. No signal meant that I couldn't even get into the BIOS...so that definitely seems like a board problem, rather than a GPU problem.

From my experience there is a lot of cost cutting with Gigabyte low price products, just stay away from the cheapest Gigabyte products and look for their mid and top tier. My Aorus 2060 Super is quite good, which lands in top 100th Timespy score easily, fans are barely audible up to 80% fan speed.
Gigabyte is quite shoddy with their marketing too, recently bought the Aorus RGB memory with 2 fake dimms

They says it is Samsung b-die right in specs and guess what, it is Hynix...which requires my X570 Aorus Elite to cycle boot couple times when cold booting, I was able to swap to a real Samsung B-die kit that boot at 3600mhz 16-16-16-32 1T no problem.
All in all just look for Gigabyte mid tier products which are very good at their price point
