God of War (Remastered I & II + III)

I always intended to play these games on the PS2 as I always heard they were flat out amazing, but I never had the money to pick them up. I was really amped to see the 3rd one would be coming out, but was iffy on going back and playing the 1st 2 and now I couldnt with a new 120GB PS3. I told my gf it would be awesome if they remade them for the PS3 and a week letter I got an email saying they were.

So I went and checked and it was only $40 for the Remastered I & II, I put them on pre-order (they come out on the 17th I believe), and found out I get the God of War III demo for doing so and a special skin for III. I went up to Gamestop yesterday and picked up the demo code, just got done playing it, and WOW.

I have never ever played a God of War title before, not even for a minute, and this game was just mind boggling, the violence was refreshing, physically ripped out a giants eyeball with my hands, then rode him around killing poor skeletons. I am now very eager to play the 1st and 2nd one, anyone else got this on preorder or eagerly awaiting the 3rd? BTW the graphics were flat out amazing!

GoW is awesome, still have my copies of 1 and 2 and will definitely buying 3 when it is released. The series really managed to get a lot out of the PS2 hardware (much like Polyphony could with the GT series).

Try God level difficulty, its much harder, but I think it was the way the game was meant to be played.

I'm so getting the remastered versions for PS3. Altho I have played both I and II on the PS2 (and have them in my collection), I MUST HAVE THEM ON NEXT GEN!!! Mostly because the PS2 games don't look so good on my giant, peen-enlarging plasma TV.

Not sure if the remastered pack is out here yet, have to check at home where my favorite game shop site ISN'T blocked (stupid company content filter).

After playing the demo for the 3rd, I really don't. This game would be lost without a controller, it played so fluid, like a movie, so much movement. And honestly, the graphics were better than most PC games I own, could see the imperfections in Kratos's skin when camera got close, just wow.

I just watched the remastered video, seems the graphics did get a bump up, they arent at PS3 level, but they are quiet a bit better than PS2, theres a video up on the PSN. I'm doubting the collections up yet, it wont be out here for another 10 days.

As a near trophy addict, I am kind of glad there is not a trophy that requires to play through God mode. It really is fun, and makes the game longer, but Ares is a cheap SOB in GoW1.

I just watched the remastered video, seems the graphics did get a bump up, they arent at PS3 level, but they are quiet a bit better than PS2, theres a video up on the PSN. I'm doubting the collections up yet, it wont be out here for another 10 days.

Controllers on PC just never feel the same, and with the killer graphics that I just seen on the PS3, I don't see a reason for it to be needed on PC, only games that I have personally played that look better are Crysis and AoC.

You misread my post (or I was not clear). I was commenting that although it will not look like GoW3 the collection will be much better than the upscaled version we have now.

God of War I & II for PS2 look not that good on a PS3 coupled with a big HD screen. Upscaling PS2 games sucks hard, altho GOWII didn't look that bad on my screen, but still the upscaling problems were noticeable.

I really look forward to the remastered versions. I don't really care that much about the new graphics, as GOW was more about gameplay and story (both absolutely fabulous!), altho they maxxed out the PS2. Really, GOWII looks better than most PS3 games now, its mindblowing.

I have to play through boths games again before I even touch GOWIII, because I must admit, I didn't finish GOWII yet, I'm kinda stuck lol. Okay, I'm stuck because I refuse to change to easy mode, even when hords of enemies keep coming and coming AND COMING AND COMING and then you think its over and then EVEN MORE ARE RUNNING TOWARDS you

But thats why I love GOW. It keeps surprising you, blowing your mind away, and keeps you glued to the screen trying and trying again until you beat a stage, even if you have to try dozens and dozens of times. I spent hours beating those three cyclopses in GOWII. You know, those beasts with those little annoying creeps riding on their backs. Man, I was so frustrated with this part, but then I finally figured out a stratedgy that worked, and man was I pushed! And then even harder stages approached

Personally i loved socom and think confrontation is pretty damn good (finally after mass amounts of updates)

Resistance 1 but moreso 2.

I really can't wait for God Of War III, i was a huge fan of the first 2 and i haven't played them on god mode so that is what the remastered version is for!

I was very impressed playing the GOWIII demo, I like how to pull off a move to damage a boss you have to do random button sequences, and the gore was just down right awesome. I ripped off some boss type guys head then was using it as a sort of flashlight. My gf was watching me tear enemys in half in horror. Some poor civilian jumped out of a window that flame shoots out of and was on a small ledge I was on. It told me to do a certain button sequence, which I did and I was too far away. But I had reached out my hand, so I figured when I move closer I would help the guy... nope. I grabbed him by the back of the head, introduced his face to the wall, then let him fall to his death, just flat out awesomely ruthless.

No, its 69 CHF, which equals pretty much exactly ...67 USD lol.
Well, I guess it costs more because its an European release, they need to tailor it to the countries here. I'm glad tho that the German synchronization of both games was fantastic, unlike many other games. AND living in Switzerland means: Uncut all the way

Games are expensive here... I tell you, 67 USD for a PS3 game is cheap here.

Well anyway. I appreciate the effort of the developers. I mean they didn't have to release I & II remastered. But they did. And I'm thankful for that, and they deserve my money for that.

Just watched the trailer. Ah, the memories... memories about those fricken spinning towers with blades on them, about those MOTHERloving rolling lavaballs (or whatever the hell they are), about those GODDAMN cyclopses...

Man the GOW series is one of the most successful series with the awsome story which follows through, i played GOW1 3 times all the way and GOWII 2 times but i cant play GOWIII cause i have a 360, and my ps2 is sumwhere else so i juat cant get it and i wanna play is so so so bad But i wonder if there is place to rent gaming consoles for cheap?
