My case only has support for 3 fans, I already have a front intake and the outake ago.

Now I'm thinking of doing a side intake, you guys recommend? will have a good airflow having two fans to do intake and just behind the exhaust do?

the fan side is pointed directly at the gpu, and I can by a 120mm or 140mm which advise me?

Buy a set of noctua round 140mm fans but has the same mounting as a 120mm fan and are quiet and move a ton of air over any other 120 fan.. What gpu are you using? Does it vent into the case or our the rear?

The Gpu is an Asus 270X TOP R9, I honestly do not know if it makes exhaust into the case, but I think yes, it is an open gpu

Then you advise me to do a side intake?

There is no problem to stay with two intake and outtake just one?

The case going Nox NX200.

Good airflow with 3 fans ?
Yes it's possible. I'm currently using just the back fan as an exhaust but when summer comes will turn on one front and one top fan.
No your GPU exhausts hot air in the case it doesn't have a reference cooler.
You could buy a fan for the side and try it as a intake or as a exhaust and see how it is better. If you go for a side intake try making some kind of a dust filter for the fan.

Flip the power supply so it works as an exhaust fan, usually power supplies run cooler that way anyway. This will keep it from filling up with carpet lint, so it will last longer too!

3 intake is fine, you gonna have positive air pressure
if it could just buy bigger fan, bigger fan would flow more fresh air for your system
and dont forget using air filter to minimize dust get acumulated in your case

You want the side fan pulling air from the case.. If you put 2 good fans on the side then flip the exhaust to pull air in from the rear and no leave the PSU alone.. Why have hot.air be drawn into it to exhaust through it? PSU last longer the cooler the run

@micropage7
If you have all fans blowing into the case then please exain to me how hot air is going.to exhaust property?

Here think of this.. My case has a 200mm front intake ok.. The rear holds a noctua 140mm that fits in a 120mm mount pulling air into the rear ok.. The top radiator has two sp 120's pushing air out of the case.. My psu gets air from the underside of the case and plays no roll into where I'm going with this.

If you find the proper balance of air flow vs pressure you can keep the case all closed up and maintains a neutral positive pressure inside the case and have next to no dust entering the case.. I have a built in front filter that's it. If I turn the rpm's up on the fans its perfect.. The gap on both sides of the radiator on low speed will let air into the case and also dust but on high speed I have more inside pressure and I can see no air draw from the sides of the rad.. I've experimented and used an insence stick burning with smoke coming off of it to prove to myself what I've just explained and it works.. Oh and yes I use a Silverstone magnetic air filter on the rear to and my case don't get dusty... It gets dusty when I pull the side off to work on something but that's all.

I guess you did not realize, my case has a front intake and one exhaust behind.

Now so has the capacity to add another fan and is on the side, 120mm or 140mm.

I'm honestly thinking about buying a new case with more fans on top for exhaust, because only a little is

But for now I can not buy, so I'm going through a side 140mm intake fan, right?

Putting fans on side panel can disrupt airflow a bit, from going from front to back/top.

I would get a new case though that has support for more fans. youll likely not get much improvement just changing fans.

He could always go to a metal mill to have the side cut for 230.

PSU usually run cooler the other way actually because the heat from the videocard rises above the videocard, not below it, so its drawing cold air through it from the case inside. Running it with fan pointed down it has to struggle against a case filter. I tested it on my Cosmos that has a high flow filter underneath the powersupply area. The temperature of the powersupply was much better with it drawing case air than with it drawing "fresh" air from below, as measured by my hand on the backside. This results in less heat coming off the power supply's casing, so its a win win for the other components as well.

If you say so... I'm actually stunned with that reply. So maybe I'll change analagy a bit for you.to understand.. A cars engine all closed up ok you follow me? It needs air to run, so what's better having the air cleaner below the engine or above it... Now let's take it to the wild side, stick the AIT cleaner outside of the engine bay... Now what makes a cooler air flow into the engine and what's going to make it run better? If you say under the engine u need a slap lol.

Anyways no your wrong... If you want me to prove it I'll load up my system to draw over 1kw of power and I'll use a real instrument to measure the heat off the psu and not my hand... And also I'll flip my psu and run the same test but I assure you your wrong.. Some flip the psu to RID the case of warm air that's all.. Go ask miners and folders here what's what and I'm sure as the sun shines that they side with me on this.

Take what I said with a pinch of salt ok. I don't blow smoke up ppls ass like some do.. If I don't know an answer believe me I ask.. But if I can help I'll help with knowledgeable answers.

Good luck and hope you at least followed my advice on fans ;)

Okay no problem, I was just reporting my observation. Every case and power supply would be different, I noticed the temperature on the power supply switch plate area to be much cooler with the power supply fan up, wasn't expecting it myself but thats what happened.

Car analogy:

Whats better, intake in the fender well but not deep enough to be a cold air intake, or a full length cold air intake on the bottom with a really thick sock over it so it can't breathe? Better yet, take the sock off and the filter gets covered in sand, so your engine doesn't breath at all, or if it gets past the filter your valves get destroyed.

Unlike a car, the heat wouldn't be in the area where the intake is. The heat rises up. Car intake is on the top of the engine. Power supply in a case is on the bottom.

Running power supply face down with the case on a carpet is a lose no matter if you run a filter or not. The filter will either over filter and result in a hot power supply or running filter-less will suck all the carpet fuzz, pet hair, etc into the power supply.

Anyway looking forward to hearing what your test result is.

I'm not going to flip my psu as I said I was being a smart ass. But what I can show you is the temp in the lower case and mid case as well as the air temp exhausted from the psu. And yes cases are different. I think with your sock comment was funny and yes your right.. That's why we use KnN filters and not socks lol.

Your so called sorry the case filter you had they named it high flow was probably causing weird air flow into the psu. I use a demicflex filter and they say its not restricted but it is. Its custom made for the top of the case where the radiator is.. I only use it when the system is just ideling away with all fans in silent mode otherwise I get dust being sucked around the two sides of the rad. When I game or benchmark on go the fans and off comes the filter as I have that pressure so the crap can't enter the case..

@MxPhenom 216 well I do try and help and thanks.
