assuming the story is true

Intel lines up 2500k/2600k price cuts to welcome FX
http://www.kitguru.net/components/cpu/jules/intel-lines-up-2500k2600k-price-cuts-to-welcome-fx/

for intel fan boys; they get cheaper processors if they have been holding off upgrades

for AMD fan boys; looks like Intel is confirming the BD-FX line will give the intel SB line a run for its money in performance

for consumers; more options and lower costs!

been a while since Intel dropped prices due to AMD competition

I had a Sandy setup, it was so bloody quick. However, I'm still going to see what BD brings as I can kind of upgrade on the cheap with my current budget setup.
Agreed.... I own a SB setup now and you are right it is freaking fast. But I am holding out on any high end purchases right now just to see what BD brings. If it is good enough.... I might be going AMD for a little while.

Pure speculation. Don't think Intel will cut any prices.
