Good soundcard for music?

I listen to a LOT of music, at least four hours a day is devoted to music and related miscellanea. I'm planning to get the Klipsch Promedia 2.1s, unless there are any other suggestions (which I would also approve of).

I will be running this under vista, so I would like everything to be squared away with the drivers (I hear creative has driver issues).

You do have plenty of options on sound cards.

Well if you need on the cheap then probably the asus xonar, ht omega striker, and auzentech xplosion. They all use cmedia chipset.

for high end sound cards there is EMU, Maudio, HT claro, and auzentech X-fi prelude.

Although it uses the default DACs of the 8770, it manages to be a superb music card for its price. If music is your thing, choose this particular card over anything Creative.

i have a x-fi xtreme audio for trade, its software only, and its PCI express, honestly its not all that great for games since its software only but there are no driver issues in vista, and its pci express that can be handy, i will trade it for absolutely *anything* in this world that is the slightest bit usefull to me if you pay shipping. [literly anything that i can use is fine i like old videogames especialy but whatever]

fair warning, i baught it for gaming cuz i thought it would be cool cuz it was x-fi but in reality when you strip away the drivers [software] its basicly just an audigy SE or sblive 24bit

but for music its great since all the fancy driver stuff in vista [but i heard you can do the same thing with the cards i just mentioned by useing altered drivers]
