Hello Everyone,

I have faced a upsetting problem for a while that every time while I browsed webpages and then I left for a break with the monitor turned off automatically after a few minutes. And then when the monitor turned on again, the webpage while I was browsing was frozen, I couldn't scroll at all unless I minimized the chrome and maximized it again, before let it work properly.

I googled first maybe tried to have the power setting to be HIGH PERFORMANCE? but it was unsuccessful, I have been fad up for this for a while, it seemed to be ever since I bought a ASUS RTX 3070 last year? No problem with the same system specs when I still used GTX970

NV driver: 465.89
OS: Win 10 64-bit 20H2 19042.870
Monitor Connection: HDMI

Does anyone face this kind of problem before? Thank you in advance.

I have the same problem and another one separately, in which sometimes when I move my tabs, the pictures and the inscriptions on the tab disappear

Hardware acceleration in Chrome?
Try turning it on or off to see if that helps.

Hello

Unfortunately, still the same.

Do you use any extentions? have you tried a clean installation of chrome? Does it only occur in chrome and no other browser or window?

have you tried this: https://www.windows10forums.com/threads/chrome-freezes-after-sleep-or-after-inactivity.7081/
Hello

close all extensions and try again, the same though. And seems to be no problem on Edge.
Clean installation of chrome? I use web installation from an official site.
I will try to do it by the other thread on the forums and get back to you later to see it works.

After following the guidance by disabling ''Calculate window occlusion on Windows '' seems to work without freezing, I can scroll after reactivating my monitor, I tried 2 times.

I will observe it for a couple of days to see if the solution solves my problem once and for all. Thank you

Interesting. It seems odd your issues suddenly started. If this was a program update, it seems many users would be complaining of the same problem. And I am assuming you did not recently enable that feature so why would disabling fix the problem? We may never know.

I was going to suggest uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling Chrome. But since it seems you might have found the solution, that would be a moot point.

Anyway, I am glad you [hopefully] have it all sorted out and thanks for posting your findings. Please come back in a couple days to let us know if your solution sticks.

Same I just full screen then reduce or vice versa and control is regained, annoying but not worth hunting out for me.

Hello all, I'm going to feedback and update you how it goes for my problem.

I tested a few times, simulating a frequently-faced freezing scenario, which I experienced most before this morning and afternoon. It appears that disabling ''Calculate window occlusion on Windows '' solved my problem, ''default'' before

I can scroll the chrome page after my monitor is reactivated from the automatically turning off setting now.

Cheers!
