Got my 3800X boost to 4650Mhz in light gaming loads

So sold off my 3600X CPU'S and grabbed a cheap 3800X from buy and sell.Seems to work very good or normal, not sure about the 3800X yet,it's only been a few days with it.

So basically light load gaming up to 4650Mhz
Heavy gaming loads like BF5 can do up to 4475Mhz -4500Mhz all cores

I can say gaming is the same between 3600X vs 3800X no difference.

To anyone worried about the CPU voltage,it is OK.It is running off AMD settings and it has a 3 year warranty.I can also run it at lower voltage if I want to.
Example:For those that would worry, the CPU will not die and was not harmed in this Prime95 29.8 Build 6 with AVX smallest FFT's

Video light gaming

Likely an instant blip. Congrats?

The bf v image shows most cores at 4.4 GHz...two at 3.9 GHz.

Hwmonitor shows one core averaged 4.5GHz, while the rest were under 4 ghz.

Anyway, share what you changed to reach these clocks. It doesnt seem too much different than normal volts and pbo. Did you raise limits?

Using Pstates at 4600Mhz is possible on my cpu but - it takes 1.5v vcore - but if you got the nerve for it go for it - currently staying at 4500MHz all core at 1.45vcore
134251

This setting and just add vcore to cpu, is the only thing I do to run all core - running 4500Mhz now at 1.45v vcore - but above 4600Mhz i possible but take above 1.5v. No PBO settings or anything else. Dont use Ryzen Maser. I do run with some additional memory settings thats it. Im not sure if its possible on the X470 chipset, but if - give it a try - would lock vcore at 1.5v for starters

4650 MHz a cross all core. Not to shabby, but that is probably only for a very short burst and over 1.5 volts al throw that is only for a short moment. But still I find that to high for my taste for a 7 NM cpu.

It might be because I am used to Intel voltage range that is lower than amd ryzen runs at and off cause ryzen is a different construction than intels chips and constructed to run a higher voltage I would assume.

But honestly I am more interested in what voltage and all core clock the cpu runs when at constant 100 % load on all the cores?

Haha YES!! That Antec 1200w PSU in the spoiler. That power house will push whatever you want!

Nice Rig GerardFraser! ~ You should do some static overclocking. Boost is fun and all......

About 4Ghz typically depending on which generation

why are you showing us a video where the cpu stays under 10% ?
show us one where it's at 70% and we'll talk.the bf screen shows 1.49v and +80w and the cpu is just barely hitting 40% on all cores, not even on all eight.
and you can't predict what happens to a cpu in 5 or more years time.we're safe cause of the 3 year warranty ? please, tell me you're not posting this for serious.

god damn 1.585v is just crazy on the hwinfo screenshot

Pot. Kettle. Black.

Your first video shows what we are saying.. it was a blip. The second video runs a game at a resolution where the cpu doesnt matter much.

What's the point of this thread again? Do you understand how these work?

actually what tomgang said was quite correct,so it's a case of a pot calling itself dumb.

Maybe he's right....that is what the saying means my man. :D

This comes from old times when pots and pans were generally black and kettles were generally metallic and reflective. Therefore the pot sees its black reflection in the kettle and thinks that the kettle is black.

your voltage gives me the willys, id stay under 1.5v or overtime somethings gonna cook, 1.4 would be better darn my 2700x at 4.25ghz all cores don't go over 1.375v.

Again, this is how the 3000 series works. It boosts the Voltages to 1.5V for a very brief period of time, then drops down to 1.4-something, then boosts again.
This has been discussed in tons of other threads and been verified by AMD as the proper way these chips are intended to work.
It would seem his board might be boosting the Voltages a tad high though, as I haven't seen anything over 1.5V exactly.

I know bro but it don't stop me getting the willys :) + knowning how AMD thinks on the fly and seeing how thay adjust there output to the users it don't stop me worrys. id like to see the voltage the ops using when locking in all cores.
