Hello!

So, my GPU is GeForce GTX 1070 inno3D JET. Its exactly http://www.inno3d.com/products_detail.php?refid=349 this model. Ill give you some photos of the card. I've cleared this mess around pin, but it doesnt help. Also screen from GPU z. I'd like to repair it on my own, since warrianty has expired few months ago.

Forgot to add, other card worked fine on my setup. Also, 2 or more months ago, this card was running worse that it's working now, since i had nearly 70 fps in games. Now i can get some decent fps in some games

Turn on the built in test

You need to clean those pins

You mean test in GPUZ? I've tested it several times, fps flowing from 35 to 80, but nothing changes.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)

So to be clear, when you hit the test button in gpuz, that value doesn't change?

Have you checked in the bios to see if that slot is, for some odd reason, set that way.

It's missing some capacitors that handle pcie signaling, that is likely the issue.

That's definitely the problem. There are 16 pairs of caps/resistors(I'm not sure which they actually are), one pair for each PCI-E lane. The 2nd pair is missing, so PCI-E lane #2. So the motherboard will only see the card as a PCI-E x1 card.

Is this the only PCIe card installed in the system?

Update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version and reset to default configuration.

Clean the PCIe slot, cards' pins, and try another PCIe slot.

This problem is usually caused by dirty/damaged pins.

I did all of those, i'll follow the caps thing. But only problem now is, I have completely no clue, what kind of caps I need to buy, since they are so small to even see mark :shadedshu:

If you didnt know how to check the values of the ones that are there, should we really be soldering them on?

Don't get me wrong, I know if I want to be fully sure, I should use multimeter etc. But it's hard to get things now due to corona. So i just asked if anyone have any idea, if not, ill probably give the card to the nearest pc service ;)

I had a similar issue on x570. Stuck on x8. Reseating/going over all settings etc
All i had to do in the end to fix it was load defaults and save, haven't had the issue since.

That's probably the best idea, hand soldering smd's of that size is a real pain, I typically use hot air for them.

What your looking for is likely 100nF 0603 MLCC 50V/16V, don't think the voltage rating matters in this case.
