after lots of testing I can conclude that this will help a lot of you with a lot of random issues.

I chamfer every card I own and sell and NO ISSUES.

display subject

1st gen GT 730

I used silicon on a q tip then polished it to help find the high spots on the gpu die...

I marked the high spots in yellow so u can see what I see...

400 grit sand paper cut a tiny 1 half inch square and gently graze the edge of the gpu die to break off those high spots
BE CAREFUL AND GO SLOW

clean the tiny metal flakes and apply the thinnest amount of thermal paste across the whole chip and reassemble...
perfect temps and perfect junction also no weird glitches and bugs anymore hmmm.

This just seems like an incredibly reckless thing to do for extremely small gains.. I did learn what chamfering means tho, so that's a plus.

"extremely small gains"

you have no info to back that statement up so next time just say its dangerous which is what I said by "BE CAREFUL AND GO SLOW" so actually you should of just said nothing... thank you

How much of those gains is from just reapplying TIM? Reseating the heatsink?

Also semi off topic, your posts I've seen around here you kind of come of like an asshole.

lapping is one direction,, I do 2 directions..

RX6800 non XT modified 244fps BFV 1440p RTX enabled at 4ms ALL DAY LONG --------

my 3090 rog can do 220fps at 1440p 7ms for "45"min before HEATWASHOUT and frame drop so I would say set and match... game over.

I'm done with these meat sacks. we have a lot of ditches to fill. START DIGGING.
