GPU Hanging due weight?

So my HD 7970 cooler is propably so heavy that is hangs (right side) will this cause harm to motherboard or GPU itself?

It can overtime loosen the slot but I've rarely seen this happen. If your concerned just make a jack for it

They do sell jacks but sometime you can route the power cable to support it rather then cause it to lean. Like run it from the top down instead of hanging

I just installed it couple days ago, how can it loose overtime when theres that clip thing on right side and screws left side?

Well either the card or my PCI slot. In the end I could basically tap my case and the card would freak out.

Bending doesn't really affect the quality or performance of graphic card. They never bend that much.

It will eventually kill your card, 1 of my 7950's died that way. I thought it was normal and causing no problem, so i left it alone. It turns out 1 of the VRam (in the middle, just above the pci-e slot) is not making contact to the heatsink it was just hanging on only to the thermal pad. The chip burned eventually.

My R9 290 on my first slot is loose as hell. I had my computer since 2011, and when i start up, i had to personally lift the GPU up or else it does not detect it.

p.s. upon inspection i found the card slot screws had come loose, seemingly from normal vibrations, card was installed 18 months (or so) ago now.

I have vibration issues all the times. I have bus a trolley going down my windows very very often... each month some random BSOD occurs and I have to replug RAM sticks and all cards to get rid of it...

Card bending is a bad thing really... I usually think out some sort of support against SATA connectors or arrange the power lines so they pull up the card.

I fixed it! With zip-ties of course, luckily my case have place for radiator or fans in top so i could put zip tie trough hole and other head of tie is on PCI e cable

the problem is that you can never be sure what will happen, you might be lucky and nothing happen or.. you can loose a card. its a very simple fix and imo its not worth the gamble..
