not a bad video, I've seen reviews of it where it does pretty ok for itself, especially being single slot.

one thing he said in the video has me thinking though, he fumbles when he says it too... about 4:27 in;

"it's going to consume less power because it's being cooled more efficiently"

his other points are valid, cooler, quieter, longevity due to cooler running temps, but my quoted one Im really not sure about.

This is actually correct in theory, but I am yet to see any numbers as to just how much of an impact this really has.

any power saved would be more than offset by the pump/fan on the kit.

takes the guess work out of liquid cooling the cpu and gpu. i love its simplicity.

i have the corsair h50. all i need now is this. cant wait!

Great but...

The $214.99 USD "because" were the only product on the block is not the way to do business, even more so in this stage of the world economy.

A "value" price point would be somewhere around ~$90.00-$110.00 on the far topend for a unit designed for SLI/2 cards and $60.00-70.00 for the single unit.

I tend to stay far away from ANY manufacturer that does thier pricing based on being a single source - because in the tech world - you don't remain single source for very long. And it leaves a bad taste in one's mouth of being "raked over the coals", making me not want to purchase ANY products from that manufacturer at all.

IMHO ofcourse, your mileage may vary.

Yes, silicon is a semi-conductor, and as such, it's electrical properties change according to temps...hence guys using LN2 and LHe for world records...

More than likely. Would be interesting to investigate, but it's gonna be hard to measure power consumption from the pci-e slot.

When a full-cover block is about $100+, I don't see your pricing as reasonable. It all depends on how well it cools in comparison...but I must digress, CoolIT told me a custom kit would be thier units by about 10c.

A little confusion, maybe....

Alot of people I think are being confused/scammed out of thinking this is a precision water block system - it is not.

The "interposer" is nothing more then a heatsink with cutouts which then by conducting the passive heat transfer into the top "universal" portion which contains the water flow, in an enclosed radiator type of system. The heat is then transferred due to conduction.

So very true - as far as ease of use this would be the way to go. But if your looking for top notch cooling for the ~$220 USD price range - a normal water kit with an actual GPU cut block would be the way to go.

This was my point on the price point - this unit does not warrant a price tag of ~220.00 and it seems it is priced that way because they are the only ones selling it at the moment.

I do see what you are saying, but I also think that thier costs on these units prevent them from charging much less than that anyway. I figure there's at most $60 markup, and that also, prices are quite high due to them probably selling very few of these unit.

If you consider other Coolit Products, this pricing is quite the norm for them.

I'd pay $199 or so, with a 240mm rad, and I had alot of interest in this product before it came out, but that dropped to me basically ignoring it once I had a chat with the CoolIT folks. I'd rather build a custom loop, and get the better temps, although I think it might cost a wee bit more.

i'm sure this will create a host of other competitors to make their own type.

think "asetek & corsair". the H50 is a spinoff of the asetek model. someone will make a

spinoff of this one too.when that happens, prices will surely drop like a the temps in winter.

we may see these "spinoffs" before christmas.we'll just have to wait.:ohwell:
