well if you want to lie, say whatever you want...just remember you aren't being honest and if they do find water damage your card will be refused anyways.

Yep, pretty much this. All you can really do is sent it back saying it doesn't work and hope they don't see the water damage.

Was the computer powered on when the water spill happened?

Have you mistakenly turned it on since the water has been spilled on it? (Hopefully not)

Where else did the water spill? As I can't think of a situation where water could spill on the video card and no other component.

Have you tried drying the card out?

As far as getting official support in form of an RMA, the only option you have is to lie ,because they don't warranty irresponsibility. You have to keep in mind that if you do decide to be dishonest ,and tell them something else is wrong ,they'll be able to likely tell if you open that video card up ,or if it was damaged with water and is showing signs of it, at which point they're likely going to charge you for the shipping ,and you're going to get back your broken card.

What country are you in would also help because there's different laws in regards to "void if removed" stickers

Yeah at first I didnt know it had water on it there was a leak on my roof and was dripping on my desk and my pc being right beside it fell into it through the fan vents on top which icdont even use how ironic but it crashed not knowing what had happened I turned it back on it worked for about 30mins then crashed again. And since black lit screen even after drying it after it did that I looked and saw the problem and it was like a paper towel and a half of water on it everything else works I used another carp gpu to make sure also in the USA and haven't spoken it apart or anything or void it

Ok, so does it look like it's had a water spill on it? You know, stains, corrosion, ruined labels etc or any other physical damage. If not, then simply return it and say it's dead. You don't have to offer any explanation of how it got that way and they won't expect it. If the card looks in good condition, then you'll likely get a replacement. Good luck!

Well it was water so I don't think it's have stains it's just dusty almost being a year old, also what would corrosion exactly look like on it?

This would be the best option if you have no other choice.

It's time to chalk It up to a life lesson learned. There's always a risk when water cooling and you have to accept the responsibility for any damage, if it happens. Time to start saving for a new one.

Don't take the advise of others here, who are being dishonest and telling you to return it dishonestly. That's considered to be fraud and is a crime in most places.

So vague, this thread...

Im assuming after things were dried, cleaned off, and reseated, it still doesnt work?

If so, water damage isnt covered, correct. I suggest doing the RIGHT thing and NOT trying to RMA leaving critical information out and misleading (telling a lie) them into covering it. I'm appalled at how many people are suggesting this, honestly. You are telling this kid to commit a crime!!!! That's fraud people!!!!

Your home owners insurance should cover this as someone earlier mentioned. Id go that route if possible...work with your parents on it.

it was a leak in his roof...not from water cooling. Otherwise, with you all the way.

no-ones gonna go to jail for lying , or misleading on an RMA request, lets not get silly. after i read through the threads posts, i saw that most posted that misleading wasnt a good way to go about it with a point of avoidance, but left the choice in OP's hands, as it is. i know i did. it is certainly morally sitty, but id be surprised if it was even legally punishable

Its FRAUD.

Even suggesting to defruad them, at best, is disappointing. At worst, abhorrent. Listen, im no angel, but i wont suggest a user defraud a company intentionally...regardless if it was 'one of more options and up to the op'....

It is, but evidence is a bitch. You can always just say you didn't know, and how do they know what's going on in your head? Thus, no one will press charges.

It's still fraud though. Plain and simple.

I'm fully aware that it could be considered immoral, although tbh I'm not certain of the legality of it being an actual fraud. I myself didn't suggest he do it (nor am i aware of anyone else, actually telling himto do so) ,I merely pointed out that it was indeed a choice (after it had already been mentioned). But if you actually read what I posted, I was saying that if he did choose to lie about it ,he could be held accountable for the shipping charges as well (which if he isnt able to afford a replacement, wouldnt make things any better financially) and he would still get back the broken video card, as i felt that was something worth mentioning, since im fairly confident that would happen if he chose that path. but im not gonna sit here ,and cast moral judgement on a person with my personal opinion, more than to say it would be dishonest, but im fairly confident OP is aware of that fact.

But its the best option.... to lie a defraud...
This would be the best option if you have no other choice.

If he doesnt have legal recourse, he eats it, not defrauds people. Its not remotely a best option. Its a non option. Its fraud, plain and simple...
