Hi, i am interested in buying a GPU but i need advice if it is worth doing that.
I use BENQ XL2411Z Monitor which is 1080p so i wont go for 1440p or 4K. My current GPU is Sapphire R9 290 4G D5 (reference version with one fan cooler) so i do want to upgrade on MSI RTX 2070 8GB Armor.

The rig has the following hardware:

MB: MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX
CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K @ 4.2GHz
CPU Cooling: Cooler Master 240M Seidon
RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB (2x8GB) @ 2400MHz CL11
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
PSU: Cooler Master 1000W Silent Pro M2
CASE: Corsair Obsidian 650D
Thank you in advance.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Worth it is in the eye of the beholder.

That said, the RTX 2070 will pound 1080p into submission (you will be able to run any game at Ultra settings and eclipse 60 FPS. That is a significant performance upgrade from the old R9 290.... and uses like 1/2 the power. :)

Consider overclocking that CPU more to get more out of the current GPU and especially the 2070.

Now is best/worst time to buy gpu, if you can wait 2-3 months.

The RTX 2070 is the most overpriced gpu of the entire RTX fiasco. I have no idea how anybody would advice anyone to buy this card.

MSI RTX 2070 8GB Armor.
While that's a great card, the Armor series coolers are on the lowest end of the spectrum (not counting blowers). Do a bit of research for that exact model, check out some reviews.

That's a pretty good deal, but you get stuck with the reference cooler and that one is pretty bad imo.

I know but the kicker is that you can get a water block for $100 and get some nice temps. My Sapphire idles at 24 C and never goes above 55 C under load. There are many selections for reference Vega 64

I assume you haven't looked at GPU pricing lately...

You are welcome to go with a GTX 1080 which is a bit slower and costs $630+ or an RTX 2070 that is faster for $500+ (same cost for a higher end one) and includes the new features (and BF V - some of them). Or, you can get a V64 at $400 w/o those new features and uses 2x the power (along with 3 games). V64 is a decent choice, but, its power hungry. If I had the budget, I would advise users to go 2070... If money is a concern then the V64 is certainly viable.

So, about that 2070......... :)

I appreciate your help guys , but i live in Europe, to be precise in Republic of Macedonia, so we do not have a wide market thus i am locked on 3 markets across the country. The prices would not go down on any of the GPUs until the release of the next series , even then i will have to wait 3-4 months to get some products for lower price, waiting is not an option for me , that is why i asked now for your opinions on getting the RTX.

Do you have access to EVGA? If you do, their 2 fan cheapest coolers are actually good. Check out Gamers Nexus for a review where they compared it to the higher end one ($50ish more)

EDIT, now that I think about it, I doubt EVGA sells in ex-yu countries.

Well , 2070 seems overkill for 1080p , a 1060 is very enough to play on ultra 1080p , u can get a 1070 - 1070TI if u want to take full advantage of the 144hz monitor.

Full advantage, to me means I can run 99% of titles at 144 Hz and it mostly stays pegged there. A 1070 Ti only shows a couple/few titles over 144 Hz average at TPU 1080p. I think we have different ideas of 'full advantage'. :)

If your heart is set on RTX then just find the cheapest RTX2070 you can get and go with that it's not going to make a heck of a difference which manufacturer it's from as the rest of your system is going to be the bottle neck

Seriously OP asked suggestions for RTX series. What is a non-existence GPU living in some Youtubers’ fantasy gonna donwith helping OP? Always wait as there are always new GPUs coming out??

Nothing to get excited about today then!?

7nm GPUs are going to be a major stepping stone for both AMD or Nvidia. I would not touch any RTX card due to the absurdly high prices in relationship to the generational improvement. In my opinion this is the worst time to buy a new GPU from any manufacturer.

No, Youtube, its the same AdoredTV leak that was already posted here. So, he's quite right and you fail at checking the source you posted yourself.
