GPU Waterblock Question

What is the best material for a GPU waterblock? I see some that are nickel, copper, acetal, and nickel/acetal.

the part that transfers the heat from the GPU is almost always copper. plated with something or not, its copper

The tops changing materials do very little for the heat transfer.

I prefer acetal, but really yah it's down to personal preference.

acetel is lighter and cheaper than the ones with nickel tops and its what all of mine are albeit i just run a stack of old maze4's

they are overpriced look at swiftech MCW80 and ramsinks

I always go nickel plated, it doesnt stain black and brown like copper does. I prefer full cover block over gpu and ramsinks as long as im planning on keeping that card for a 1yr+ otherwise I hold off. full cover has great cooling with usually much less headaches.

technically a MCW80 or other waterblock will cool the core of a card better than a full cover will and has less restriction

yes, but when it comes to vrms, especially HOT vrms, water is the best

VRM's are rated to run hot cooling the with air is not going to hurt them that was how they were designed. want proof they dont need water? ever seen a full coverage LN2 cooler?
