GPU-Z "failed to create tray icon" error, pops under splash screen

Used to run GPU-Z fine on my main machine (and currently works fine with the test benches using windows 10 2004), but on my main machine (1909), it has stopped working. I open GPU-Z and the splash screen pops up, but I get an error sound with no error. I alt tab and fund an error popup has popped under the splash screen with the error in the title. I can hit OK and it opens fine after, but its annoying that I have to do alt tab every time now to open gpu-z and close the needless error (I dont care about tray icon). The GPU-Z settigns has all disabled options relating to tray icon / minimizing.

What do I do?

Do you have latest gpuz? Just to clarify, you start gpuz manually, when the system has been up for a while, and still get that error?

I had a power outage about 34 hours ago, so system uptime is 34 hours. This is GPU-Z 2.31. I am using standalone version and not the installed version.

I assume other apps are working fine in the systray? Does a reboot make any difference?

I haven't forgotten about this thread. Other system tray apps are working fine. However, I really dont do system restarts unless I am absolutely forced to. When the system is next restarted though I will let you know.

Adding that a system restart no longer causes the system tray pop-under issue anymore. No error box either.

So something probably got corrupted that got fixed by the reboot. Let me know if it happens again
