hello,

how to stop updates? i dont need the most current version, and im getting tired of that notification popping up on the bottom every week or so. not complaining here, i think Dev support is great, just dont want the constant update request message is all. trying to not sound like a dick here, but its hard :rolleyes:

( that pun was truly accidental and I didn't catch it until about 20 minutes after posting this)

Easy! Go to Settings, then in General (1st) tab click Check for Updates.
Another small window will show, there is a combo-box saying Check for updates automatically - Yes. Click it, click No. Click Close, click OK.

who would think it would be in there?! weird choice, but glad its fixed.

If you ask me - in the General tab. There is some vertical space still left to use.

Do not agree. It is OK now, but not good. If it is good or perfect, this would be better than just "OK".

Also, please note this was already in a better/easier to reach location previously. If fixed now, it will mostly go back to a proper state, not a new one.

It has always been in that location because those settings options were added not that long ago

No, I remember it was in the system menu before (TOP left), before we had Settings.

(I would not say that was very intuitive, so it can be done much better now)

It can be a bit confusing because people think clicking the button will just do what the button says, not launch a window with more options.

I think it would be better to just move the option to under the buttons on the general tab.

This is one major reason I use a firewall so any random app can't call home without my approval first.
