GPU-Z sensor dropouts...

Hi, I've been staring at GPU-Z a fair bit lately since, on the desktop (thankfully havent noticed it in game) there's random instances of mouse and keyboard not responding for 3-5 seconds since I got my new GPU and trying to see if GPU-Z shows anything odd during these occurances...

Anyways, this isn't related to that but...
I've noticed irregularities on the sensor readings randomly where, for instance, perfcap reason doesn't display anything or votlage or memory controller load suddenly reads 0...I don't think my GPU would be running with a voltage of 0!

This doesnt seem to coincide with any odd behaviour of the PC...but it is odd, never saw it with my old GPU.

Is it an issue with the card reporting, GPU-Z reading the sensors or potentially an issue with the card itself?
Thanks

I saw the same on many different old GPUs, often including the temp sensors dropping to 0 too. I always put the blame on the way those sensors work or how the card reads them on the hardware level.
I would say it is nothing to worry about and probably could only be 'fixed' by ignoring those implausible values in the software when they show up and instead take the last known 'good' value until it gets a proper signal back.

No it's 7 Pro with classic theme (since I found aero pretty damn ugly...and classic theme is more like what i've been using for the last 24 years)

*Edit* Nvidia don't even supply a driver for WinXP for the 1660 Ti :)

Exactly, that would have been my next question :)

Do you have any in windows event log? Just to double check, the stuttering is not happening at the same time as the sensor dropouts?

Nothing shows up in event viewer when the sensor dropouts or mouse/keyboard freezing happens...

One thing I might do is switch back to my GTX 960 for a while, the drivers I was running on that were 416.34 which was installed on 24th October 2018...so I can test to see if the freezing is due to a driver or the card..

Would be awesome if you could check that

Ok I'll get that done this evening...not the easiest task in the world when the GPU is right next to a huge air cooler but...ah well :)

Hi sorry about the delay :)

On the same driver it didn't do it with the old GPU but did with the 1660Ti...also I did notice sensor dropouts with the 960 so...back to scratching my head trying to figure this out.

Thanks

This is probably some kind of NVIDIA driver bug, thanks for the update

Which part, the dropouts or the mouse freezing? :)

I'm guessing the dropouts since i didnt have mouse/keyboard freezing on the old card...
