You can use afterburner with RTSS to show the GPU temperature while gaming.
Idle GPU temperature isn't so interesting.

I use a 5.25 front panel touchscreen display that tells me everything. It's config using AIDA64.

Won't work with GPU-Z and small taskbar icons.
Has to be full, wide icons.

taskbar or system tray? if in the taskbar, as a pinned icon? or as a "toolbar"?

edit: if you don't know the difference, the system tray is the section of the bar with those tiny icons on the right side. the taskbar is everything in between the start button and the system tray.

If system tray, hwinfo, librehardwaremonitor, and msi afterburner does it. Probably there are more but those 3 comes to mind being some of the most popular monitoring tools.

If in the taskbar as a pinned icon, I'm not sure one exists, maybe another forum member can point you in the right direction.

If you want a "toolbar" in your taskbar, TrafficMonitor does this. Originally it was for monitoring network traffic, but it gained the ability to show temperatures by integrating librehardwaremonitor. I personally use this and prefer this over the system tray.

Sorry ... i meant TrayIcon...
Alright. Like I mentioned, there are other system and graphics monitoring software that support this feature, but it won't hurt to add GPU-Z to that list I guess.

Is this feature the reason why when I start GPUz the system tray flashes very briefly, as if an icon appeared and dissapeared in a fraction of a second?
