[GPU-Z Test Build] Fix system crash related to Steam / Valve anti-cheat

Please test if this build fixes the crashes some people have been encountering when starting Steam or playing some Steam games

This fix is for all GPUs: NVIDIA, AMD, ATI, Intel

My test case was CS:GO which normally crashes within a few minutes

After viewing the two other threads this morning, I walked away thinking this was affecting nvidia cards only...that is...until I read Divide Overflows post. Again, I downloaded the revision and beat the hell out of my system with opening & closing steam/games/gpu-z with zero issues until I actually stopped testing. Then this popped up.

I clicked on yes...then this popped up a minute later.

Then this...right in to a loop. Where it eventually says it failed...click ok and the box closes.

I think this might be related to the out of memory bug. Will repro on R9 290 to find the cause. Just to confirm, you used Vega 8 for this testing?

Thanks W1zzard, I'm not getting the Out of Memory error anymore with the latest test build.

I've pounded on GPU-Z all morning...haven't run into a single issue.

Keep testing with this version please and report anything that's odd.

Played a couple of CSGO Deathmatch games with this GPU-Z running in the background and had no BSODs, while on the non-test version I usually had BSODs on map load or a few minutes into the game. Going to keep GPU-Z running in the background for now to see if it stays stable.
VAC/Steam was my first guess back when I started getting BSODs but I think I forgot to mention it in the other topic... Didn't know other cards had this issue though, seemed like it was just a tiny batch of Nvidia cards because I couldn't find any info whatsoever about these BSODs anywhere and it was some blind luck that I stumbled upon the relevant TPU thread a while ago.

Works fine on my AMD Radeon PC with Radeon R9 390 card.

Did not have time and the audacity to try on my R9 290 PC.

Very carefully, and feeling scared I ran this one on my AMD Radeon R9 290 system today just now, a few minutes ago. Works for now!
I dare not restart, as I fear my system might crash and burn again. (and GPU-Z is disabled from auto-start anyway)

NOTE: A few weeks ago, after working for months, GPU-Z failed on same PC very spectacularly!
All that changed were some Windows Updates installed plus a newer AMD Radeon Adrenalin drivers version.
For a horribile 1/2-hour, I restarted and restarted my PC via Reset button, as GPU-Z was set to start with Windows and caused a system freeze every time!
Then I VERY quickly ran Windows Task Manager after the 4th-5th restart and killed the nasty culprit process of GPU-Z.
Then when system started in full, somehow I was able to run GPU-Z and disable auto-start... NOT good.

Hope this one has this fixed. But cannot say for sure.

No. Just like GPU-Z, Steam is set not to run on startup. However, I have lots of other stuff running on startup. So, I assume it is a similar conflict happening.
OS is Windows 10 64-bit, version 1809 - so latest one, the one Microsoft pulled (but will return soon, I see)

I can attach MSInfo32 Autorun screenshots if you want? Or maybe a log from the better Autoruns tool.

Nah, was just wondering because this version specifically fixes issues with Steam. Guess we'll never know until you try
