Gran Turismo release date confirmed

Not sure if this has been posted already or if many of you care, however the long awaited and one of the most anticipated games made exclusively for the PlayStation3 will be released to the US on the 2nd of November. For Europe and the UK the game will hit the shelves one day later on the 3rd.

Said to include over 1,000 cars with 20 different tracks (spreading 70 variations) including the infamous TopGear circuit.

The game is available for pre-ordering at around £40 for the UK.

man i havnt played Gran Turismo in about 5-7 years. i absolutely loved GT 2.

1,000 cars with 20 different tracks is seriously impressive, if the games physics and handling are even half decent this will be a stomper of a game.

Other racing games are good but they dont have the development period GT5 has had. I contribute the amount of tracks and cars down to that. I seriously would expect there to be lots of cars but 1000 is extreme! Since they probably started out with quarter of that and added more over the years the many many years.

Probably just get my mate to bring his PS3 down to mine so i can get a try.

My PS3 and GT5 wheel are waiting patiently, but im sure not. its like 74 days away now. I am glad that Europe and Japan got similar release times to NA, would of been unfair to them if it was nov 26 as amazon speculated.

GT5’s new karting mode is revealed, along with the debut of the Autodromo Nationale Monza circuit! Andreas of InsideSimRacing also noticed that skidmarks are visible on the tarmac (see video above, though it’s not from Andreas), and a non-functioning “course maker” option was visible in the menus. Wow, only 20 different tracks. That's pretty weak. 1000 cars is nice but I can see this getting pretty stale having only 20 tracks to race on. Yes i know it says 70 variations but who wants to drive reverse layouts or shorter versions of the same track.

For a game that is supposed to be the king of all racing games where are all the tracks.

I counted a bit ago and without DLC forza 3 has 22 i think it was. 20 is a little short ill admit, but no different to any other racing games.

Shorter versions create different corners and such

at one point i would have bought a ps3 for this but that time has long since passed way to fail polyphony digita,l even the fact that there's nascar and rally in it id still rather play FM III

20 tracks isnt alot.
but surely there will be plenty of dlc for this
