I edited the previous post to answer your question. There will hopefully be a patch soon with just about everyone experiencing problems.

    LAN Support?

I heard GTA IV has multiplayer, does it support LAN also or is it just for online play?

I hate these developers who treat PC Gamers as slaves in third world, just force console shit (literally) upon them and expect money to roll in.

I know! It takes the piss! I've been looking forward to this game since it came out for xbox, only to find out it runs like shit. No AA support, can't enable highest settings, shitty draw distance, even with erocker's beast!

They shouldn't be suprised when 99% of people pirate this poorly coded POS, cos I'm definately not buying a copy!

    Screw you cockstar!

How did the previous GTAs run on PC?
I have only played the older previous ones on console.

What are you people complaining about?

It looks better than the console version, at a higher resolution and higher framerate. What more do you want?

And for everything that is going on in the game, it looks damn good. I challenge you to show me a game with as much going on all the time, that looks as good or better.

Vice City Ran ok all though cars would disappear as soon as you passed them most issue's were solved in GTA SA and by the sounds of it the best.

As for GTA 1 and 2 i thought 1 was bast as i was not much for the graphics in 2. Both GTA1\2 were birds eye view.

There's a big difference between looking good and playing well.

Pretty much I set it to look like it looks on my PS3, then bumped up a few settings.

Low settings, with a resolution of 1366x768 on my HDTV made the game look like it does on the consoles. The resolution is key, most people are playing it at 1680x1050 or higher, even 1280x1024 means the game has to render about 30% more pixels than the 720p the consoles render it at. Drop it to where it is on the consoles and the framerates improve. Then I bumped a few things like AA to improve the quality a little, and it now looks better than the console version, and easily gives better framerates. And this is on SLi-9600GSO's, not my 9800GTX's(which are boxed up, waiting to be shipped to their new home).

None of those are in game shots, they are pre-rendered, and in game Crysis does look better, but there isn't nearly as much going on. There isn't as many people, as many vehicles, as many stuctures, and you aren't going 200MPH down the road.

Anything from 800x600 to 1440x900. Doesn't matter what I do it just runs like crap. I have givin up on the game tho, already unistalled it. I highly a doubt a patch will fix this game. They didn't even try to make it optimized.
