i just recently upgraded from a ati 3870 to a nvidia gtx 285 now when it seems the card is under any load it causes my monitor to make these "popping" sounds it does this in games and while folding im wondering is it my monitor or my video card i have samsung T220HD. also my monitor supports 1080p but the screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 so in the control panel i have to resize my desktop to get 1080p resolution could this be causing it? this monitor also has speakers in it if that is a cause. with my old ati card i never had this problem and i created a custom resolution to get my 1080p res to fit my monitor nvidia dosent seem to have this as i have to resize after every boot-up any advice?
also is it normal for gtx 285's to make lots of noise while folding it will squeal.
any help is much apreciated.

ATI > Nvidia. There's your solution!

Are you overclocking at all take off any overclocks. Is it bottle necking? Are both PCI-E cords connected?

Very possible. Make sure you removed all ATi software and drivers. Don't forget the HDMi sound driver and such.

Goto device manager and UN-install any offending ATi sound items, if there.:)

I get that sometimes with my ATI card as well. Try shutting off you monitor's speakers on the HDMI input.

i was going to say that, i get this when my resolution changes, and my screens speaker volume is set too high.

Ok will try driver cleaner make sure no ati driver parts still here and then will try what Wile E said.

also i don't think its gonna be bottle necked with a I7 920 and its not overclocked just what it came with at the factory its a SSC version
