Greetings Everyone.
I had a EVGA GTX 780 Ti Classified lying around so i decided to put together a PC for my nephew.
So after everything was in place and i fired up the system, no problems whatsoever.
But as soon as you install the Nvidia drivers, the card stops sending video signal.
So far i have tried everything, from changing Display outputs, trying the card on different machines, with different display drivers and Windows versions, changing PCIe slots, and even using it as a secondary card, which, by the way didn´t work either cause the primary card (Asus GTX 780 Ti) would then stop sending video signal also.
I have been searching forums for a while, but so far the only thing i discovered is that this is not an isolated problem, and that it is (AFAIK) only with EVGA cards.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks.

Make sure the motherboard has the latest BIOS installed. Though I doubt it is that.

Also, the card may be faulty? You could possibly try switching to the LN2 BIOS on the 780ti (or the other way if it's already on) in case of GFX card bios corruption.

I assume you mean it works as a display adapter in windows but when you instal drivers it stops working? Could it be a display/card issue (i.e. DVI or HDMI problems?)

Did the card work until the driver kicks-in? I mean, you see the post and the windows boot animation?
You could try to boot in safe mode and do a clean uninstall of the geforce driver, then re-installing it in safe mode. Also you could try to see if the card works on linux. If the card has two bios, you could try the second one. Also try different cables.

Yes, the card works fine, right up until the driver finish installing!
I can see windows boot animation and even my desktop!
And also no problems running on safe mode!
Also tried changing the bios (this card does have two) and nothing....

Put a recent linux distro (mint mate/cinnamon, ubuntu mate should be easy to use for someone that used only windows until now) on an usb stick and boot from it. (It will probably use nouveau. No way to install nvidia proprietary drivers without actually installing that distro.) Do you get image after it boots (like the desktop)? Or it goes black/no signal and stay like that forever?

If with the linux usb stick you get to desktop and you still have image (open firefox and try to watch a youtube video for example), actually install linux on the PC for your nephew and install the nvidia proprietary drivers. The entire idea is to see if you will get a black/no signal like in windows case or not.

even using it as a secondary card, which, by the way didn´t work either cause the primary card (Asus GTX 780 Ti) would then stop sending video signal also.

By any chance do you have an Ati/AMD PCIe gpu?
The idea is to put the Ati/AMD gpu as primary and the EVGA GTX 780 Ti as secondary. The 780 Ti shouldn't affect the Ati/AMD gpu in normal conditions, unless is causing some serious stuff on the PCIe lanes.
The entire idea here is to have a monitor connected to the 780 and see if it actually see the monitor (with nvidia drivers installed).

Can you change from the mb bios the PCIe version? Change between 3.0, 2.0,1.0 and see if it does the same.

Did the EVGA GTX 780 Ti work before?

You sure the PSU can handle the GTX 780 Ti? It's a power hungry gpu... (maybe the 12v line just go too low).

Did you tried with both UEFI and not UEFI Windows installs?

L.E.: Silly question. After you get the no signal stuff, did u tried to power off and power on the monitor? (I have a combination of gpu and monitor that sometimes at boot corrupts the image and things get back to normal if I power off/power on the monitor, never figure out if it's the monitor or the gpu cause in other combinations I don't see this happening (it's always at boot, never later)...).
