To me it's like Dirt meets Forza.
Dirt rally w/ trucks. I guess theres only SO much u can do tho
The name needs work though "gravel" doesn't seem like they really tried. Too close and similar to "dirt"
I welcome a non-Codemasters game like this.
Looks like The Crew, dirt and raid spec. Haven't really seen any reason to play this over The Crew yet.
That's the problem with the race genre: they're pretty much all the same because what's really new and exciting to be done? More physics, that's about it. Doesn't sound like they're going for that either.
If its a sand box type race then it has potential. Would be fun with friends on a voice server
I would almost prefer a game that featured Real World locations instead of just generic Bland tracks and open scenery. Kind of like Test Drive Unlimited or Grand Theft Auto V.
pretty much ya... F U-Codemasters, after Dirt 3 never again.
The Crew is the spiritual successor to TDU/TDU2 (Ubisoft hired most of the people from the studio that made TDU2 when Atari nosedived...again). They bastardized the US map for the sake of making getting around less tedious but they did recreate some monuments in the cities included in the game (like the Saint Louis Gateway Arch).
Same feels here. Dirt 2 was something new and exciting for me. Showdown and 3 felt like a grindfest. Can't really get into Rally. Because of the trend that has formed, not really interested in Dirt 4 either.
I really like DiRT rally. If there's any game out of the series to get, that would be it. Showdown is just trash, the worst.
Rally is definitely an improvement compared to Showdown and 3 but it didn't come close to the greatness that is 2.
I welcome any racing games. I still remember late 90's and early 2000's when gaming world was oozing all the racing games on all ends. Today, it's a freaking desert. Only racing games that still exist are Need for Speed and Forza likes. NFS is literally just 1 game that's the fun sort with crazy racing, cops and shit and the other ones are (at least for me) boring simulation racers. And that's it. I don't get it how car and moto racing just died out. So, yeah, any racing game that gets released now is very much welcomed, so we at least have some options, even if I still dislike some of them. Sure, there are Dirt series, but quite frankly, only rally game that really excited me was Rally Championship 2000. The insanely long routes and way how cars behaved was really cool.
there are two racing games I really liked, Carmageddon and Road Rash. Anything after them was really disappointing.
Road Rash was awesome!
"Gravel" sounds like a quarry simulator.
I had to cringe when the guy was speaking of Milestone's race game expertise. IMO WRC could be in better hands. I played it and was always put off by the strange feeling handling and physics. Plus they've always been sub par at visuals.
This looks like a successor to Motorstorm, but it looks like it won't live up to the expectations.
Road Redemption? http://store.steampowered.com/app/300380/Road_Redemption/
I would love a remastered Motorstorm...that game was really fun.
Racing games were more fun on consoles
hard to top the classics on N64: mario kart, diddy kong racing, pod racer
