For now I'm DLing their modded bumper and chase cam mod. It facilitates all cars and raises it a bit. I use mainly the close chase cam and there's times I can barely see the corners over the car.

After testing AgentHeX 0007's camera height mod, I found the view a bit too high on the close chase cam. I made my own version at a height between his and the default if anyone's interested.

I'm happy with my cam I just use hood. I was 1 of the 5% that use cockpit view.

i don't know if this is only happened to me. it's something very annoying regarding doing modification to the car. I only have one option to preview the result of modification by pressing F2 button and system will preview the car by default view. i can not view the result of modification freely. it just silly and stupid.

The only gripe I have with the hood view, is that the hood is basically pristine the whole time, unless you get it to fly off. Where in the first game, it could get smashed and block your view, which was a lot of fun. Now it's just awkward, get banged up, but the hood looks fine, then you finish, and it's all of a sudden blocking half the view of the driver and the car looks like it came from a junkyard...

I do really like the sound design in the game though. When your engine gets battered, you can really hear it.

Not too sure of this 'true-feel' handling or whatever they coined their handling for this game.

Drifting is definitely different fro the original Race Driver GRiD.
Due to lack of settings I can not get stupid high scores anymore.

At least it gives the people who hated Gymkhana a better chance at winning which will reduce the whining.

1. Crashes a lot during game loading (main game, not track)
2. track selection screens are out of focus (I only see the laptop-top), I can scroll down the options without seeing them
3. Controls: my car enters into left right craziness too easily: no response curve settings at all!

Other things I dont like is for the hunderdst time since the '90s we get that horrible "Tokio at night" and "chicago city" tracks... zzzzzzzz

Edit: there are 2 game exe : one with AVX and one witout (see game folder). Without = no crashes. Ideas to make Steam to use this one? What is AVX anyway?

I thought it was on steam due to the friends leader board being linked to steam friends.
Steam has to be one of the main places I game my games from now.

Last nite I could play a good while. Using a stupid xbox gamepad instead of my marvelous joystick... The game forgets all my settings between lauches. :-(

controls are a bit stickier.
mechanics are also a lot dumbed down like in NFS. the mechanics of GRID 1 was better.
also its a pain in the ass to play with a keyboard.

and no rotation during selecting customization parts = major fail.

That's why I am currently not playintg multiplayer.
Firstly there are going to be a lot of people not familiar with the tracks which will lead to ramming to make sure you lose and they win because there is a high chance they may crash themselves.

It's nothing different from the first GRiD adn the reason I usually chose sessions with 5 players max.

Another option would be to add people from here to race with.

Anyone else annoyed at the inability to cancel a flashback? I've accidentally hit the button in some situations, and have been angered that I can't cancel it. In the first game, you could control the flashback like you control a replay and if you wanted to, could cancel the flashback... why would they take that simple option out..

As far as I recall all GRID 1 had was a stop/start key/button for Flashback. You start it and then stop it at any given point on the rewind.

i only countered the point of flashbacks in grid 1. not in grid 1. grid two flashbacks are one time only.

plus i dont think you'll need a lot of flashbacks. handling gets better and better.
