GTS 250 or HD5670?

For my mom's computer, I have 2 cards lying around, which one is better for playing Battlefield 3 at 1440x900?

AMD Propus 640 (3.0GHz)
2x 2Gb Corsair XMS3 (PC3-10600 9-9-9-24)
MSI 870-C45
Antec HCG-400
Samsung HD502HJ

I can choose between the Palit GeForce GTS250 1Gb and the Sapphire Radeon HD5670 512Mb.

5670, for the dtx11

The GTS250 is the faster card but as said before it does not have DX11,it is also less power efficient than the 5670.

You might want more VRAM for BF3, but if the 5670 has GDDR5 it's might be a different story. Can't you try out both cards before deciding?

Theres no need to try,the gts250 is undoubtedly faster,yet it lacks Dx11 and is less power efficent than the 5670.

whether or not the card has DDR5 does not matter much in this case, the 5670 has better video decoding performance the GTS250 has better 3D/2D performance, and for battlefield 3 I would pick neither really but I would lean towards the 5670 for the lower power consumption and DX11 plus its for your moms computer.
