power limit mods are how you pop VRM's
125% would be nice tho

I'm pretty sure that with all these aftermarket coolers, they can provide a custom PCB with atleast good cooling on the High side FET's (since they go first), and then we can crank it up to 125...or use higher grade components. I would pay 20-30 eur per card more if I knew that it could handle 125-130%.

well there is the shutmod I am unsure if it applies to the 1060 ...
if it does it would net you anouther 30% power limit
edit: yes the shunt mod works on the 1060
4:00 and onwards he shows the shunt

Benchmark Scores It does boot up? I think.
Got a vanilla Palit GTX1060 6GB here.
It replaced a GTX470 1280MB that started to flake out.
Had a GTX970 for a short time back in hmmm... ...whenever they were released... but got rid of it as I had no use for it. And I was not impressed by it - for a number of reasons.

I was able to get it to 2240MHz on the core with a graphics score of 4703 in 3DMark Time Spy
It's a MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X

But i got a weird prefcap reason which is VRM. Vrel. Vop

The power consumption never exceeded 78%

so far in my testing/reading the memory on these cards will only run those redic mem over-clocks for couple weeks after which they 'burn in
' and you can expect to need to drop the clocks by ~150Mhz to keep it stable
please report back if you do start having memory related stablity issues I find this very intresting

Well, its been a while now and I am happy to report that I have not had a single issue yet. :)

my memory tho overclocks like hell

Ok I don't have a 1060 but a 1070 but my card clocks just +75 on the core:ohwell:
On the memory I haven't reached the OC limit yet, highest OC I dare sofar +825 in AB :D (no artifacts yet)
Since the vram clocks very well, it compensates the lower core OC IMO.

read the thread people you need to use the CURVE and not the strait offset for the best results

@silkstone
try beta 14
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/msi-afterburner-beta-download.html
should have some voltage control now
its percent based I would start at 10% and monitor the load voltage also press L in the curve highlight the point you wanna lock and press L to lock it to a specific point usefuly for testing points in the curve
with a +15% voltage boost my voltage doesn't dip to 1.0500 anymore and stays at my reference 2220 boost clock even at >62c

I finally found a bit of time to play with this again.

With a 15% vcore bump, I'm able to consistently boost to 2143, but anything over that results in driver resets (no further crashing thankfully).

It's be nice to hit a round 2200 but, I'm happy with it the performance and I doubt a further 50 mhz is going to make any real difference.

Got 2139 mhz on the core stable and +500 mhz on memory (didn't try more but I feel there is little to be gained by memory overclock) on a damn blower style cooler with the stock fan profile , quite impressive. For some reason only the manual clock/voltage curve in precisionx worked for me , every time I would try it using msi afterburner I would get instant driver crashes. I only modify the upper spectrum of it , no point in forcing more voltage at lower clocks.
