As the title suggests, which one would be better for gaming?
i play at 1440p @ 144hz but anything close to 60 is acceptable, so a strict 144fps is not mandatory.
my system specs are as follows
As you can see, i already have an SSD as my boot drive. So should i go for a GTX 1080 + secondary SSD where i can store my programs and games or just use the money and buy a GTX 1080 ti ? am being torn between the decision
i like 1080 ti cause i wont be upgrading anytime soon give or take 5 years, so that 11GB Vram + its 20% performance boost compared to a GTX 1080 will help me last a bit longer than a GTX 1080.
but on the other hand i also like the idea of having things respond instantly, all my programs opening up in an instant, games with no loading time sounds intriguing.
I am an application developer, i game and work on my PC, work during day time and play a few hrs before bed and am a heavy weekend gamer. I also mod games as in make my own mods
i'll be playing heavily modded games like skyrim, fallout but i also play a lot of RPG's FPS, Simuation and RTS games.
sorry for wall of text. Its just i cant decide which is better, they both seems to be good options, oh between Selling off GPU and buying used ones is not an option in my country and this would be the final investment i'll be investing into my PC meaning i can no longer buy an SSD in future and be done with it, this stuff is just crazy expensive where i live so this will be final. So its either GTX 1080 + SSD or GTX 1080 Ti.
Edit- Updated system specs, included HDD and PSU.
