thanks it used to belong to paulieg for 2 weeks and before that nflsher, lol

but yeah its okay i could probly go further but i dont want to as that means more voltage and fan speed and i might not even get that much out of it

nice card it was £160 inc shippin i was like naw wtf cant be right, that my friends proves that UK prices are shitty and even with the bad conversion rate you still get a good deal second hand from the states

i remember when it was like £1=$2 so you just halved every US price and everything was a steal to import

Mine is now stable at:

738 - 1512 - 1242

And I'm about to test stability on 1260 :D

Running on a stock GTX 260 192, with no hard/soft volt mods.

High memory clocks don't usually require voltage increase; they are just products of trial and error :)

The original G80's weren't cheap to make for a long time either, but once ATI got the 2900 out, and became competetive we saw a similar trend back then to, and the G92 was born. I didn't read that article yet, but I've seen some prices in other countries for a GTX based card and feel it's pretty damn rediculous.

On another note, cooling, I've decided to see how well I can maintain my OC with lower case fan speeds, go for a little less noise. No real reason tbh, just kind of curious, with that, I lowered my GTX fan to 60%, where it is actually doing a very good job of cooling still, my temps get about 2-3c higher than the 80% I was running, but still nothing to be alarmed about, but after seeing so many of those AC Accellero GTX coolers on board partners' newer releases has me really wanting an AC Accell GTX cooler for my 260 pretty bad. I do like how the stock cooler dumps the hot air out of the case, but I like the AC cooler's 3 fans, up to 250W of dissapation, overall look. The S1 rev1 on my 9600GT keeps it VERY cool with vmod and high OC, I can only imagine the AC GTX will keep my GTX quite a bit cooler. I'd go for an HR03GTX, but that cooler's never really grabbed me as a must have...I got the S1 over it on the basis if being less than half the price of the HR, not too far behind on cooling effectiveness, and way lighter. Not saying the Acellero GTX will be a light cooler, I like it's design, looks and performance on reviewed cards (one of the 2 reviews posted on AC's site for that cooler is a TPU review btw! :D ).

You, me and alexp999 too :) They just need to release it to general public as well, not just to board partners. If I see yet another manufacturer gettin them before we do I'll lose it :banghead: TPU would be a good partner though, anyone in these forums could get one before rest of the world :p

edit: one online store here has now changed availability to "more than 25 in importer stock" \o/ They should be on the market soon then.
edit2: back to zero (0) on stock.

 Yeah it is.. I'm sadden by it! But, if it's a great cooler, why not! Worst thing now is... Now that I'm caped on the 780i board, bus wise, I don't know what I want to do! I guess there is a reason I didn't get that psu yet!

Top and bottom slot doesn't work together? Wouldn't 2x of Accelero GTX280's fit then. What wrong with the bus, overclocking doesn't up the scores?

The problem I have is that my PSu is at the bottom, and I can only fit a duel card there..

Then for the bus... From what Evga says, my Max on the board is 1888 on the 8.5 multi... So.. I'm sol since I'm at 1887 .

Man reading that review makes me very interested...I hope it's released soon! I don't care much for the blue coloring of the VRM sink and backplate, but the overall design looks effective and sweet.

Option 1

Sell the 780, buy the 790i Ultra, you will get some more outta that chip.

Option 2

Sell the 780i and one of your 280's, buy either my board or a Gigabyte P45 Extreme DDR2 or DDR3 board and get a LOT more outta the CPU

Option 3

As option 2 but sell both 280's and buy a 4870x2 and a HD4870 single card

Option 4

Give it all away free to tatty :D

All right here is my response!

1) Thinking of the 790i PWN board right now.. But still has the same Bus cap as this FTW board...

2) If I go single card again, I'll probably grab a 295 and then a board.. But, that's on the chalk board as well.

3) Well I'd sell for a 295 before I go ATI this time around... If the 3xxx series card where still in the top spot yea, but I'll wait for the 5xxx series to think of going back ATI...

4) if you'd lived near me maybe! It'll cost an arm for me to ship all this!!!

Yeah, I know it can do 500fsb... It's just I need something due to the half multi on the chip.. So, I'm looking at Bus Freq. and sli!

If you had a 5870 card ( I know it's not out) then I'd go with it! ;)

Weird spacings all those nvidia intels have, this would be the only one that would work then :)

Yeah, I could grab that one, or the 750i... But Cooling isn't a issue for me.. right now I have both in sli and the temps are 44c, 39c on idle, never hitting above 65c on both... So, I'm set for the time being.. :toast:
